Ice Cube x Straight Outta Compton. Now that the official NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton has a critically acclaimed writer on board, you can expect a lot more updates about the project here at WoooHa. Ice Cube, who is producing the film alongside Eazy-E’s widow, is definitely taking the lead in ushering the project in. He recently spoke to MTV about the upcoming movie as well as his documentary Straight Outta LA and how he wishes Eazy was here to see it all happen.

Damon Dash x Roc-A-Fell Records. In a recent interview with MTV, Damon Dash talks about his plans to relaunch the famed Roc-A-Fell Records that he originally built with Jay-Z. According to Dame’s reasoning, the Roc-A-Fella name is part of Def Jam property and since Jay-Z no longer represents Def Jam it is free for Damon to use. Not sure how legally sound that is or what obstacles Jay-Z will throw his way to prevent this from happening but at least Damon is trying to make moves and resurrect his music career. Via: RR

NWA x Straight Outta Compton. Most of Hollywood probably did not expect this move but critically acclaimed writer Andrea Berloff is confirmed to penn the script to Straight Outta Compton, the NWA endorsed story about their rise to fame. Berloff is most known for writing Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center.

Ice Cube is officially on board to produce the film via his Cube Vision production banner and Eazy-E’s widow, Tomica Woods, who inherited his share of the song rights, also is producing. The interesting thing is that they are all on board for Berloff, a Caucasian woman, to write their story. This just shows though the level of professionalism that they plan to take this movie…that it’s not a race issue, but about who can write the best script and tell the best story.

Still no word on when the film will go into production and even if Dre, Ren and Yella are on board but you can expect the casting decisions to be a big deal when the time comes. Movie will come out via New Line Cinema. Via: HR

David Banner x Gatorade. If you have been watching the NBA playoffs then you probably have seen this brand new Gatorade ad at least five times. With its nostalgic feel, most people are surprised when they find out that it was David Banner of all people who wrote, produced and arranged the music. Two thumbs up to Mr. Banner showing off his versatility and getting a nice Gatorade check in the meantime.

Mariah Carey x iPad. It was only a matter of time before the iced out iPads hit the streets. Mariah is the first to do it with this custom rhinestone encrusted iPad that was given to her as a gift from cosmetics company Elizabeth Arden. Arden is the company that currently markets and distributes her M perfume line. Jermaine Dupri is in the studio with Carey and takes a closer look at her custom iPad.

No joke. This campy horror film is exactly what it sounds like…killer flesh eating fish take aim at scantily clad females partying during Spring Break. Nuff said!
