Diddy Covers XXL Magazine

Diddy covers XXL’s June issue. It’s his very first time being featured on the publication’s cover and he makes some bold statements;
“I am the champion of hip-hop” Diddy says in the story. “Hands down, undisputed, I’m the undisputed heavyweight champion of hip-hop. We are going to have to deal with those facts. There is nobody that can fuck with me with what I do, which is getting busy. We are going across the board, as an entrepreneur, innovator, motivator. Who was there first? New York Post Analyzes Jay-Z’s Business Ventures

In a recent New York Post article, the newspaper analyzes Jay-Z’s business portfolio breaking it down to wins and losses. The highlight in Jay-Z’s business ventures would be the success of Live Nation and Rocawear. Usher who has a stake in the Cleveland Cavaliers is probably seeing more of a return in investment then Jay-Z’s stake in the New Jersey Nets which has failed in profits…hopefully those two don’t end up fighting over Lebron James.
The recession has deterred Mr. Carter’s projects to a develop the luxury J Hotel and the development of other New York real estate properties. With the investments he made with Carol Daughters and the Broadway musical Fela! hopefully things can balance out the lows. Check the jump for Jay-Z’s track record as a mogul. Continue Reading…

We got some hate mail this past weekend from some unruly Curtis fans who stated that this movie was actually going to be shown in theaters.
Sorry guys. We got the proof right here. This is the official DVD cover to Caught in the Crossfire straight from Lionsgate which will hit stores July 13th. I love the claim at the top of the art. “From A Producer of 16 Blocks and Righteous Kill.” One is better than none though.

Updated Trailer: RZA’s martial arts movie “Wu-Tang vs. The Golden Phoenix”
For those hard core Wu-Tang fans out there, you probably saw the original trailer to RZA’s martial arts film Wu-Tang vs. The Golden Phoenix back in November of 2009. Unfortunately the movie was not released but instead it was decided to hold the release to be part of the celebration of RZA’s 20th year in the music business. The good news though is that the time has finally come and RZA has recently launched this new updated trailer.
Definitely taking elements from his mentor Quentin Tarantino, RZA fuses old school martial arts with the campy film of a Tarantino movie straight outta Grindhouse. More details to come on the actual release of the film as well as upcoming promotional strategies RZA has in store for the fans.
