VIDEO: Alicia Keys x Samsung DualView Camera Commercial

Samsung Electronics partners up with Alicia Keys to promote the Samsung DualView digital camera. The campaign uses her new single , “Wait Til You See My Smile,” to highlight the capabilities offered by Samsung’s dual LCD technology and how DualView cameras can give users the ability to truly capture once in a lifetime memories.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to partner with such an exceptionally talented individual like Alicia Keys to promote our latest Samsung DualView digital cameras,” said Reid Sullivan, senior vice president of Mobile Entertainment Marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “The undeniable synergy between Alicia’s song ‘Wait Til You See My Smile’ and our Samsung DualView cameras, which includes a Smile Mode, will without question drive home the unique benefits of these digital cameras and how they create moments of wonder for consumers.”

Unfortunately there isn’t a camera that can capture the beauty of Alicia Keys but the Samsung DualView could be the closest one.

“Just Wright” opens to $8.5 million opening weekend

The Queen Latifah and Common flick Just Wright opened this past weekend to the tune of $8.5 million at the box office which was strong enough for fourth behind Iron Man 2, Robin Hood and Letters to Juliet. It has aslo been widely reported that the film did not cost much at all to make and at least gave Common the opportunity to step up as a leading man in a movie. For those who saw it this weekend…let us know what you thought of it.

Terrence Howard in talks to play Marvin Gaye in biopic

Talks of the much hyped Marvin Gaye biopic have been around the studios for some time and took a turn for the worse when Will Smith originally turned down the role. But now, according to Deadline Hollywood, the project is looking to get back on track with Terrence Howard currently in talks to play the lead.

The film is being put together by Cameron Crowe, most famous for…Almost Famous but he also has the backing a certain key man, Mowtown founder Berry Gordy Jr. who has secured rights to Gaye’s official music.

“Nothing’s been signed on paper yet,” Howard told DHD. “Everybody who loves music will hate me if I get this one wrong.”

We stress that this is still just in “talks” right now but considering Howard’s background as an actual singer, this could be closer to happening than we think.

MOVIE TRAILER: “Holy Rollers” ft. Q-Tip

Q-Tip lands a nice little role in the indie flick Holy Rollers which is about a group of deeply religious Hasidic Jewish teens who stray away from their religions practices and traditions in favor of smuggling ecstasy for local drug dealers. Q-Tip does not play a Jewish man. No…of course he plays one of the drug dealers. Movie was quite the hit at the Sundance Film Festival and is set for a limited release on May 21st. Q-Tip appears about 1:30 into the trailer. Even though it’s a stereotypical role at least it’s not your typical movie a hip-hop artist would star in.

VIDEO: 50 Cent at “Caught in the Crossfire” premiere in Michigan

50 Cent traveled back to Grand Rapids, Michigan for the premiere of his straight-to-DVD movie Caught in the Crossfire (see trailer) which was filmed on location in Grand Rapids. The majority of the film crew were also from Grand Rapids so it was quite the event for the town.

50 made the film under his Cheetah Vision production company but unfortunately was not able to break his streak of movies gone straight-to-DVD as Streets of Blood had the same fate. Caught in the Crossfire will be available on DVD July 13th.
