Rihanna makes her first official jump into feature film acting as she has officially signed on to Universal Pictures’ action flick Battleship. Movie is based off the classic board game (“You sunk my battle ship!”) and is directed by Peter Berg (Hancock, The Kingdom). No official word on what Rihanna’s role will be but it should be interesting considering the fact that Variety confirms Battleship “takes place across the seas, over the skies and land in a battle for planet survival against a superior force.” Movie is set for a May 25, 2012 release. There were earlier rumors that Rihanna had been cast in the re-make of The Last Dragon but those rumors proved to be untrue as the film is still stuck in pre-production and no casting has been made.

Madden NFL 11 Soundtrack features much less hip-hop

It’s clear the direction that EA wants to take their soundtrack music choices for the Madden franchise. Forget hip-hop…it’s all about the rock anthem. EA has officially announced their Madden 2011 soundtrack which features 23 tracks that recreate the ultimate live gameday experience via a collection of crowd favorites, stadium classics, and official NFL team fight songs. Kevin Rudolf and Lil’ Wayne’s “Let It Rock” and the Yin Yang Twins “Halftime” are the only two hip-hop tracks to make the cut as the rest of the soundtrack leans towards classic anthem hits like Guns N Roses “Welcome to the Jungle” and AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck.” But no worries hip-hop fans….EA has big plans for their revamped “NBA Elite” franchise and the respective soundtrack. Full Madden soundtrack listing after the jump…
