VIDEO: Pharrell talks music of “Despicable Me”

Universal Pictures’ Despicable Me was anything but despicable at the box office this weekend as it grossed $60 million for the #1 spot. A big part of the pre-marketing efforts was the Pharrell Williams produced soundtrack and score. In this video clip we get an inside look at the music making process Pharrell went through for the movie.

More details on Michael Jackson video game

Ubisoft has teased what we can expect from their upcoming officially endorse Michael Jackson video game but now gamrfeed has more details. The official name of the game will be Michael Jackson: The Experience with details as folllows:

Michael Jackson: The Experience will be released on the DS, PS3, PSP, Wii, and XBox 360.  The XBox 360 version will have Kinect support, and put a digitized version of yourself on the screen, similar to Ubisoft’s new Kinect fitness game, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved.  The PS3 version will also have Move support.  All three console versions will play similarly to Just Dance and have the player match the dance movements on the screen, but this time they’ll be MJ’s smooth magic motions.

The only specific details were about the 360, DS, and PSP versions.  The DS and PSP versions will use what Ubisoft is calling “tap-on rhythm gameplay,” which sounds like an MJ version of Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, which sounds good to me.  The 360 version will also include four player jump in/jump out gameplay (hey I thought Kinect could only score 2 skeletons at once in Dance Central or Dance Masters?), and it will use auto-pitch control to improve your singing.

According to the site, the two official songs that are confirmed so far are “Beat It” and “Billie Jean.” As long as “Smooth Criminal” is on then we are there.

VIDEO: Vanilla Ice performs for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays

Although the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have the second best record in baseball (but still behind the Yankees in their division), they are still tanking in attendance numbers as they rank 24th out of the 30 teams. In an effort to boost up their attendance, the Devil Rays marketing staff has launched a Summer Concert series that kicked off last week with Vanilla Ice. Mr. Ice had high hopes of helping the Ray heal after their inner-turmoil issues.

“I appreciate that they’re kicking [butt] this year. The Rays have got a lot of people stirred up,” Ice told Yahoo. “I’m the guy that reads the USA Today with the updates of who’s in first, second, third place, and I know they’ve been trailing New York, but I know the records are close. The Rays are playing some really good ball, and they’re a Florida team and I’m anxious to come down and absorb the whole Tampa Bay Devil Rays [scene].”

Take a look at the footage from the concert which even includes a Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtle on stage. Now that’s old school.

PICS: Beyoncé’s House of Deréon Bedding

House of Deréon retails at major department stores from $149.99 to $199.99. Each design is  named after Beyoncé’s hits like “Halo” and “Sweet Dreams”. What should everyone look for when outfitting their royal chamber?

“Well, I think that the one thing that they should look for is something that they’re going to feel really relaxed and serene in, because your bedroom is your sanctuary,” said Tina Knowles. “Even when I was a teenager or a young adult, and I didn’t have any money, my bedding was nice, and I would splurge on that because that’s where you lay in bed and you get a lot of your comfort from. You should look for something that’s really comfortable that makes you feel like a queen. I think these beds reflect all different personalities.”

The Rick Ross “Teflon Don” figurine

Rick Ross is pulling out all the stops in marketing the release of his upcoming Teflon Don album. Select music and lifestyle “VIPs” received this “Teflon Don” figurine this past week in hopes of generating excitement for the release. Def Jam will not be selling these to the public but I’m sure they will hit e-bay in no time. Via: RR
