Mary J. Blige introduced her line of fragrance “My Life” to the Home Shopping Network on July 31, it was the fastest selling and most popular fragrance in HSN history selling 50,000 units. The perfume sold for $55 each with proceeds going to Blige’s foundation FFAWN, the product grossed an estimated $2.7 million in sales. Earlier this year Diddy previously held the record for selling the most of his “I AM KING” fragrance on the network, but the Queen of R&B out sold him in sales and in revenue.  Click  HSN to place an order of the My Life fragrance on the company website.

Black Eyed Peas member Taboo is partnering up with JUMP shoes to launch his own line of sneakers titled “TabooDeltahTM 3008″. The sneakers are currently being sold in Footaction with prices ranging from $65-$85.

This is taking music artist and video game ad integration to the next level. Activision put the idea on the map with their breakthrough Eminem x Call of Duty TV ads (see ads) but now Linkin Park and the upcoming game Medal of Honor ups the ante. Linkin Park premieres their new music video “The Catalyst” which also serves as the new trailer for Medal of Honor. The video is directed by Linkin Park’s Joseph Hahn and features both live-action and gameplay footage. Medal of Honor hits stores October 12 and Linkin Park’s new album, A Thousand Suns will be in stores on September 14. Look out for more full music video integrations like this in the near future.

Belly is one of the most classic hip-hop flicks around so it’s no surprise that Rick Ross pays tribute to the movie in this new promo video for his Teflon Don album.

Honda Australia has released this new Honda Jazz “How Much Rap Can You Pack in a Jazz” TV ad which features Sudanese rapper Bangs. Not sure what’s a worse representation of hip-hop culture…this ad or the Toyota Sienna “Swagger Wagon” video (see vid). Props to Shadow & Act for the find.
