Jay-Z speaks on signing Will Smith’s daughter to RocNation

The Roc just got a lot younger. Jay-Z publicly spoke about signing Will Smith’s nine year old daughter, Willow, to his RocNation label earlier today with Ryan Seacrest.

“We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow,” Jay-Z stated. “She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious.  It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age.  Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.”

Willow is the youngest member of RocNation and her single “Whip My Hair” has become an instant teen single sensation. Wonder how her older brother Jayden feels about this. He might be a movie star but he doesn’t have a record deal with Jay-Z.

Raekwon working on “C.R.E.A.M.” movie w/ Dame Dash

The Chef recently spoke with NY Mag where he revealed his plans to get behind the camera lens and film a movie with Dame Dash called C.R.E.A.M., which will be inspired by their 1993 anthem.

“I’m working on a movie called C.R.E.A.M. that I co-directed with one of my partners. We teamed up with [Damon] Dash,” Raekwon stated. “Y’all gonna be hearing more about this movie that we’re putting together called C.R.E.A.M. It’s called Cash Rules Everything Around Me. It’s a lot of things transpiring right now, but I just want to continue to stay in my zone, stay focused, and keep working. ”

“…At this point, I probably won’t be in it, but we don’t know. I want to more or less capture the scenes from the outside looking in, because I want it to be something that people say is a classic, and they respect the storyline of where we went with it. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, even when we was making Cuban Linx II, I was already making it my business to obligate time to that, to putting the script together…”

No word at what stage C.R.E.A.M. the movie is in right now but from the interview it’s safe to assume filming has not started. No cast or release date has been announced yet.
