Jay-Z & Will Smith launch film production company for “Annie” remake

Jay-Z and Will Smith have joined forces to form a new film development and production company which will be an arm of Smith’s existing Overbrook Entertainment production company. The as-yet-unnamed venture was launched to produce a remake of the musical Annie starring Smith’s daughter, Willow.
“The Overbrook Entertainment family and I have a unified vision,” says Jay-Z. “We’ve already produced a Tony Award winning play and we’re developing a true superstar in Willow. This venture into film development and production is a perfect next step with teams that are accomplished, creative, and innovative.”
Smith founded Overbrook Entertainment in the late 1990s which has produced dozens of films like Ali, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Hancock, I Am Legend, and the 2010 remake of The Karate Kid starring Smith’s son, Jaden.
Diddy to guest star on “Hawaii Five – O”

Diddy has landed a pretty major promotion for himself and his music by guest appearing in an upcoming episode of the CBS show “Hawaii Five-O.” The show will also include a line up of Diddy and Dirty Money’s recent singles. In the show, Diddy will undergo weapons instruction and training with a Navy SEAL to play New York City Detective Reggie Williams, a lawman “who hunts the streets of Honolulu for the men responsible for a crime against his family,” CBS said in a statement Wednesday.
