VIDEO: Only one member of ATCQ attends documentary premiere

Michael Rappaport’s long awaited A Tribe Called Quest documentary had its premiere at Sundance this past weekend. Of course the doc has not been without its controversy as Q-Tip has gone public in denouncing the film. Only Phife showed up to support the premiere at Sundance but looks like ATCQ has a good public relations team and understands that this film could be eye-opening to the millions of fans out there. They released the following statemeng:

Thanks to our fans for their support through the years and for the enthusiasm around the documentary. We hope that the film’s perspective conveys our love of hip-hop culture. We could not attend Sundance, but we want to express our love and appreciation for the support that we have received in advance of the film’s premiere tonight. We hope that it is well received. Thank you.

Rappaport was interviewed before the opening and took it all in good spirit. As fans, we just can’t wait to see the movie.

Flavor Flav opens Flav’s Fried Chicken in Iowa

Flavor Flav is officially in the chicken business. He has opened his first Flav’s Fried Chicken restaurant in Iowa this past week.

“When the (Cimino) family first met me, it was automatically love at first sight,” Flav said while standing in his restaurant Friday. “They loved your boy Flav.”

Once Flav started selling his 99-cent chicken wings at Mama Cimino’s in Las Vegas, Nick Cimino developed the idea to bring FFC to Clinton.

“Nick sees me frying the chicken and says ‘I’m going back to my town and I’m going to build us a restaurant, the first FFC restaurant,’” Flav said. “I said, ‘Huh, are you serious?’”

So there it is. During the next year, Flav hopes to open hundreds of restaurants around the country, especially since he’s already received calls about opportunities through the Flav’s Fried Chicken franchise.
