A full-length video directed by Jonathan Mannion, TDK Chronicles pays tribute to the days of cassette tapes and the anatomy of the mixtape and is set for release on January, 19. Here’s a trailer featuring Nas speaking of his memories.

WoooHa was one of the first websites to report way back in July of 2008 on RZA’s deal with Universal to direct the kung-fu flick Man WIth the Iron First. The good news is that the movie still is happening…in fact RZA is in China right now with producing partner Eli Roth (Hostel) filming principal photography. Roth recently stated on Twitter:

“I’m in China. I feel like a Jew on Christmas…The Chinese film crew are so fast and efficient I feel like I’m watching an episode of Benny Hill.”

Still no official release date yet for the film but some estimate a late 2011 release. Also rumors of Russell Crowe as the lead still are that…rumors. Regardless of who the lead is, with RZA directing it sure will be an interesting project to watch. I yearn for the days when this flick could have had an ODB cameo.

Snoop went on the radio with DJ Skee yesterday to announce his upcoming movie called High School with Wiz Khalifa. No word yet on the plot but considering the title has the word “high” in it, it’s not too much of a stretch to figure the plot centers around weed. Regardless, you won’t have to shell out the big bucks to catch this flick as it is set to go straight-to-DVD on 4/20/11. Get it? 4/20? Yea. We’ll get the trailer soon enough so stay tuned.

This definitely isn’t a version for the kiddies let alone “Sesame Street” but see what it’s like as the muppets kick it Kanye style with “Monster.” Cookie Monster is hardcore.

Josh Groban delivers in this mock ad for his new album “The Best of Kanye West’s Tweets.” Funny stuff. And hopefully this is the last we ever write about Josh Groban.

Curtis and Val are making quite the acting duo. The upcoming action flick Blood Out now makes the third straight action film with the two of them together but hopefully this one will get the theatrical release treatment. Blood Out is not produced by 50′s production company Cheetah Vision and will be released by Lionsgate some time in 2011. No word if straight-to-video or theatrical release.

According to Engadget, Sleek Audio is gearing up to unveil wireless headphones at the CES exhibit . Its first celebrity endorser will be 50 Cent, whose headphones are titled Sleek by 50 Cent. Sounds a lot like Monster’s Beats by Dre…yeah we know, could similarities pend a lawsuit? We’ll see. Monster has had great success in the audio consumer space in getting deals with HP and adding celebrity endorsers LeBron James, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Diddy. Sleek has entered the market with a more innovative product than Monster. With this product can 50 Cent strike gold like he did with Vitamin Water? Can this product compete and steal market share from Monster? More news to come later on the week regarding this deal so stay tuned.
