Complete cast for RZA’s “The Man With the Iron Fist”

There has been a lot of speculation as to what the final cast is going to be for RZA’s martial arts flick that he is currently filming in China. Well WoooHa is dishing up the scoop again and we have the complete final cast for The Man With the Iron Fist. Most of these have been announced or rumored already but here are the highlights:

Russell Crowe - It’s true. Russell and RZA have been buds from their days filming American Gangster. No word yet on how big a role he will play but at least it’s a big name to add some box office credibility.
Lucy Liu – playing the role of Madame Blossom.
Pam Grier – previously announced. This is going to be an awesome role for the Blaxploitation film queen.
RZA – He’s producing, directing and doing the score. So throw in acting in the movie to boot.
Dave Batista – The WWE superstar simply known as Batista takes on the role of Brass Body
Cung Le – The Vietnamese MMA champ fights with Batista as Bronze Lion

When you put it all together, RZA has assembled a nice little cast. With Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino helping RZA out on this flick we can look for some pretty kick ass things to come.

FX Channel developing comedy based on GZA’s life

FX, home of hit shows like “Sons of Anarchy” and “Lights Out,” is now in the process of producing a single-camera comedy based on the life of The Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA and his publicist Heathcliff Berru. Show is called “Igotchaback” and centers on an up-and-coming music industry manager tasked with representing an “aging rap star mired knee-deep in existential crisis.” Hopefully it will include plenty of Wu-Tang cameos but I doubt that will happen. A Wu-Tang fan can dream though. We’ll keep you updated on this project as it sounds like an interesting one. Via: DHD

Will Smith plans to do modern day movie of Biblical character Job

Even though Will Smith has been busy looking at various film projects, it’s been awhile since we have actually seen him in a movie. Now, word has it that Smith is looking to star in the movie Joe which is a modern day telling of the Biblical character Job (pronounced Jobe for the non-Religious). Movie is written by the guys who wrote The Fighter so there definitely is some high pedigree to this project. One of the writers claim the following about the plot:

It’s about a man [who is living] the American dream.  He’s got the nice house, white picket fence, great kids, great wife, nice cars.  God and the devil get together every thousand years to bet on a man’s life, and the fate of the world is at stake. What all of us get hit with in a lifetime, this man gets hit with in one week.  And it’s about whether or not he can still pick himself up from that and survive it.  It’s a dramedy.  At it’s heart, it’s a comedy — but it’s got, obviously, a real dramatic core to it.

Let’s just hope for everyone’s sake this doesn’t end up like Bruce Almighty. And while we are at it, where is Bad Boys 3 and Men In Black 3D Will??
