Jay-Z & Pharrell’s Rocawear/Billionaire Boys Club Partnership

Last time Jay-Z and Pharrell partnered up was when Billionaire Boys Club designed promotional t-shirts for the release of The Blueprint 3 album.

Billboard reports that  Rocawear and Billionaire Boys Club will develop a partnership which has not yet been specified. GQ previously reported that Rocawear accquired the licensing to manufacture and distribute Billionaire Boys Club. Sources say that Jay-Z and Pharrell, the current face and force behind BBC, will work as a tandem—utilizing Jay-Z’s business prowess and Pharrell’s creativity.

Though Jay-Z denied the claim of buying BBC on Twitter, last month he did state Rocawear would reposition itself in upcoming campaigns and partnering with Pharrell could be part of the plan.

Ghostface Killah Sued By ‘Iron Man’ Composer

Ghostface Killah aka Tony Starks is being sued by Iron Man composer Jack Urbont for illegally sampling his “Iron Man Theme,” originally created for the 1960s television show, The Marvel Super Heroes. On Ghostface second album , “Supreme Clientele,” Killah allegedly “copied” the Urbont-written “Iron Man Theme” on two tracks. The album was released in 2000 but yet the plaintiff waits for 11 years to go by to finally sue.

According to the complaint: “Defendant Ghostface is also known for the nickname, ‘Tony Starks,’ which is a take-off of the name ‘Tony Stark,’ Iron Man’s real name and true identity. In this way, Defendants’ use of Urbont’s ‘Iron Man Theme’ gives them a substantial commercial advantage by linking Ghostface to Iron Man without paying for it.”

T-Pain vows to never use Auto-Tune ever again

We think it’s too good to be true. But in a nice marketing move, T-Pain declares he will never use Auto-tune again but instead will use his own vocal effect called “The T-Pain Effect” which will be unveiled at the E3 trade show here in LA. We can’t even make this stuff up. Mr. Pain recently told AHH:

“I vow right here, right now, to never use Auto-Tune again. I’m onto something that I think is bigger and better called ‘The T-Pain Effect.’ “

It’s a nice business move for T-Pain. Why share the wealth with the creators of Auto-Tune when he can just create his own effect?
