Eminem x Call of Duty. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the year. Although it already has record pre-sales, Activision is turning the marketing heat up with this new TV spot featuring the Eminem’s “Till I Collapse.” Remember kids…music licensing money is no small change.

50 Cent x Power by 50. As we reported earlier, 50 Cent is set for a mall tour tomorrow to kick off the publicity campaign for his upcoming Power by 50 cologne. The cologne will be sold exclusively at Macy’s. Now the official print ad which will be featured in national men’s magazines has been released.

It was only a matter of time before 50 entered the lucrative fragrance and cosmetics business. Let’s see if it can move units though like “Get Rich or Die Tryin.”

The new era of VIBE Magazine and VIBE.com is just around the corner. The new owners of the perennial hip-hop lifestyle magazine will officially kick off the new publication and online site December 8th starting with a cover featuring Chris Brown. The new direction will see the print magazine reduced from 10 issues per year to four but with a much stronger emphasis in the online sector.

“Here, Vibe.com is really the hub,” said Jermaine Hall, editor in chief of the new Vibe and Vibe.com. “That’s where everything needs to go back to. Whether it’s the magazine, or we decide to do some kind of TV programming down the line, everything needs to come back to Vibe.com.”

The new online direction seems the natural way to go as print publications, specifically in music, are trending towards a slow extinction. Vibe.com will be the flagship site of the new Vibe Lifestyle Network which will also service and function as a full ad network. Via: AdAge

Jay-Z and Alicia Keys make good on their promise to perform at the World Series in New York. They sang the current Yankees playoff anthem “Empire State of Mind” before Game 2. Guess they were a good luck charm since the Yanks tied the series 1-1. No word yet if Freeway will be performing in Philly for Game 3. Via: TSS

50 Cent x The 50th Law. The BBC interviews 50 Cent during his “50th Law” book press tour. It gets pretty deep though as 50 covers everything from drug dealer intimidation tactics to his own dealings of growing from hood star to global star.

Jay-Z x Eminem x DJ Hero. The marketing and media for DJ Hero is now in full swing. Here is the new TV ad featuring Eminem and Jay-Z.

Eminem x DJ Hero. Em pushes DJ Hero in this new promo video including details on the Renegade Edition. If all is true then he plans to take his real DJ skills to the next level. DJ Hero is finally in stores today. Props to Activision for the heads up.

Lil Jon x The Official Soundboard. After the big time success of T-Pain’s iPhone app it was only a matter of time before we saw this. Lil Jon has officially launched his own iPhone app called “The Official Soundboard” which basically just plays famous Lil Jon soundbites.

Press a specific phrase on the app (as shown from the screen shot above) and you get Lil Jon’s trademark voice. The sounds include the 17 phrases shown in the screen shot. Not bad considering it’s only $0.99 and at least it could be mildly entertaining for a few minutes. The app is currently available on iTunes.

The New York Yankees have invited Jay-Z and Alicia Keys to perform “Empire State of Mind” for Game One of the World Series this Wednesday at Yankee Stadium. The performance will be part of the Pre-Game events on the field before the Yankees and Phillies battle it out.

“Thank the good Lord for making me a Yankee,” an excited Jay-Z said of the pending performance in an interview on Monday.

Hopefully this doesn’t mean Jay-Z is going to try and buy ownership of the Yankees and move them to Brooklyn as well. The Yankees have been using “Empire State of Mind” as their theme song throughout the playoffs. Unfortunatley 98% of Yankees fans who can afford to go to the World Series have no idea who Jay-Z is.
