Pharrell x Kiehl’s. Just when you thought you had seen every hip-hop collaboration possible. Pharrell takes the partnership game to a whole new level as Kiehl’s, the high-priced lotion company, has announced an actual bottle designed by the famed producer-fashion designer-chair maker using the Billionaire Boys Club logo.

The limited edition Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist designed by Pharrell is scheduled for a release in April of this year, in honor of “Earth Day 2010.” Get it for a cool $26. What’s next? Diddy designing Vaseline bottles? Oh…we won’t go there. Via: HypeBeast

Russell Simmons x GlobalGrind. Russell Simmons has been really focusing on his GlobalGrind site the past year or so and the hard work has been paying off as traffic has been steadily increasing each month. Now they are going into the digital short arena kicking things off with the 8 week series “Hustles with Russells” featuring Affion Crockett as Simmons’ double. Check the teaser trailer.

It’s kind of like when the Uncanny X-Men turned the duties over to the new school X-Men. It was bound to happen. Basically stating that The Wu-Tang Clan is more of a brand and less of a group, Wu-Tang Management is holding an MC competition to find “The Next 9 Generals” to form a new Wu-Tang group. U-God and Rifkind are in on it but I really wonder how the rest of the clan feels.

The competition looks for rappers between the ages of 18-33 who exemplify the Wu-Tang spirit through lyrics. Online applicants are asked to rhyme over two Wu-Tang instrumentals (“Protect Ya Neck” and “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing ta F*ck Wit”) to show their lyrical abilities. Snoop Dogg x Motorola. As we reported earlier in the month, Snoop Dogg has partnered with Mr. Cartoon and Motorola for the new “Sanctioned” phone that comes pre-packaged with exclusive Snoop tracks. Now let Snoop tell you all about the phone in this new promo vid.

Duck Down Records has had a long-standing relationship with the publishers of the NBA 2K series and now they take it to the next level hosting a in-game music contest. Details on the ad right here but basically upcoming producers and MCs will have the chance to have their music featured in the upcoming NBA 2K11. According to Rap Radar, the program is designed to empower local high school students in making positive impacts on their communities. Jay-Z x Absolut. Looks like Jay has moved on from his Armadale Vodka and has teamed up with Absolut for this “NY-Z” documentary. Check the brand new trailer for the doc.

T.I. x Twitter. Fans across the globe were going loco over the fact that T.I. officially opened a “verified account” @tip with Twitter shortly after serving his prison sentence. Even his girl Tiny was all about it. After Lil Wayne’s recent Twitter push and then news of this, we automatically speculated that something was going on here and that possibly the Twitter execs got their hands on T.I. as well. Turns out we were wrong…it’s not the Twitter execs pushing T.I. to have an account, it’s the label execs. At least they were open about it so we can make sure not to expect daily Tweets from T.I.’s life.

“He’s not into Twitter,” says his spokesman, “but it’s what we use to alert people.”

More like the label will use it to alert people. This just brings up an interesting point though on how effective Twitter really is as a marketing tool. Do people really care about T.I. updates via Twitter through the label? Imagine how much more effective his account would be if it was T.I. who doing the actual updating…at least get a ghost-Twitterer…hottest job in America right now. Via: Rap-Up

Ras Kass x Save the Ras Kass. Rapper lyricist Ras Kass has been in the hip-hop game for a bit now with some what “iconic” status here on the West Coast. Unfortunately that hasn’t turned into financial success as Ras Kass has faced multiple record label and legal issues in the past. Now, after being released from jail a year ago, he is stepping up his marketing campaign and building it all around “Save the Ras Kass.”

The viral campaign is centered around “bringing awareness to the endangered lyricist crisis” with a focus on quality hip-hop and lyrics. Things kick off with a series of viral videos (check the trailer above)…as well as the official SaveTheRasKass website.

Pharrell x Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin. Here are the official pics of Pharrell and his latest piece of art simply known as “The Tank Chair.” The chair is currently available for viewing at the Colette store in Paris and then at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin from March 30th to April 24th.

According to Hypebeast, the Tank Chair is made of Plexiglas and foal or calf and the four models of the Tank chair are released in a limited edition of eight pieces in each style.
