Eminem x Shady Talez. We have just learned that Eminem is confirmed to star in a 3D horror movie called Shady Talez. It will be the first starring role for Eminem since 8 Mile. We also got the drop that the production, writer and plot are all confirmed. The movie was actually an idea brought up Violator Management (Chris Lighty and Mona Scott) early last year but Eminem was not attached at the time. Since then, Eminem has been brought on board and will actually play multiple roles throughout the movie which will be distributed in 3D.

Slim will produce and star in the movie which will be a nod to classic horror genre flicks but with an urban edge. The writer of the Underworld franchises is on board as well as Dallas Jackson, writer of the upcoming Last Dragon remake. Shady Talez is also being turned into limited run comic book series due out in 2010 under the Marvel Icons imprint.

Been a long time since anyone has seen Shady on the big screen (cameos don’t count) but this looks to be an interesting project. Hopefully it gets the right production value and budget to make this a legit movie and not some Direct-To-Video fodder for Blockbuster.

50 Cent continues to take the marketing background he’s learned making and promoting movies to his album release strategy. As reported, 50’s album release of “Before I Self Destruct” will also contain a movie of the same name.

In true Hollywood (although it took place in New York) fashion, 50 threw a premiere for the movie yesterday. Even if his album doesn’t end up moving units I still give him major ups for doing something different with his marketing strategy. Well…it also shows how bad 50 wants to be a full blown movie star. Rihanna bears tells all in her first public interview since the CB Incident. Diane Sawyer gets the exclusive which aired yesterday. Could it be coincidence that Rihanna decides to finally speak out just as her new album is about to drop? We think not…instead the label (and RiRi) is getting some major free publicity right before the album launch.

Master P x Better Black Television. Been awhile since I heard any update on Master P’s venture into launching his Better Black Television (BBTV) network but AHH has the inside scoop on the latest. While most would consider BBTV a direct competitor to BET, Master P insists he didn’t create as a response to BET.

“I don’t think it’s a response, but it fills a void…it’s going to show people where the future is going because a lot of us don’t want to die gangbangers in the hood. Some of us do want to get older and be around to raise their kids.”

Reason for the lack of news in regards to BBTV is because Master P has been busy ironing out the regulatory issues with creating a television network, establishing his programming and even gathering together a group of high powered board of directors which includes Denzel Washington, NAACP executive director Vicangelo Bullock, Hip-Hop founder Kool Herc, cable industry veteran Professor Sal Martino, and real estate mogul Curtis Oakes.

BBTV is set to launch in 2010. If Percy can really pull this off he will beat the rest of the hip-hop mogul posse (Diddy, Kanye, 50, Jay-Z, etc) in being the first to have his own TV network. Check the website for more details.

N.E.R.D. x Pharrell. As a faithful fan of N.E.R.D. I’m a bit shocked that they agreed to film and perform for “90210.” As a business man though it’s clear that Pharrell wants his band to reach a much broader demographic with the addition of a female singer and, well, agreeing to do a show that targets females 13-34. If only Brenda and Brandon were here to see this now.

Is N.E.R.D.’s appearance on “90210″ alienating their current fan base or helping expand it?

The ODB documentary Dirty: One Word Can Change the World hits theaters in New York Nov 10th and Los Angeles Nov 13th. Directed by Dirty’s cousin Raison Allah, the documentary commemorates the colorful rapper’s life though personal interviews with the Wu-Tang Clan, Sunz of Man, Killarmy, the Black Knight, and the Brooklyn Zu. No matter what you might hear in the press, those in the film industry know that Michael Jackson’s This Is It has flat out failed to live up to all the hype. Sony Pictures had been lowering their internal box office projections all last week in preparation for any potential backlash that it would be a bomb. Although far from a box office bomb, This Is It was projected to make $35 million in the U.S. from last Wednesday to Sunday (yesterday). Instead, the film is coming in at $32.5 million for the five day weekend and only made $21.3 million Friday through Sunday. To put this in perspective, Miley Cyrus’ concert movie Best of Both Worlds did better with a $31.1 million three day weekend number. Yes Miley Cyrus beat out the King of Pop.

Sony will continue to hype the film up as a global success though and as we all expected (and as WoooHa predicted) they will be expanding the screenings beyond the “exclusive” two week period to offer everyone a chance to see the movie. No surprise there but everyone here in Hollywood knows it’s because Sony needs all the money the can out of this one.

Beyoncé “I Am…Yours” Thanksgiving Special airs November 26 at 9pm on ABC. After cutting up the turkey you and family can do the “Single Ladies”  dance routine around the living room.

Will Smith x Men in Black 3. Rumors about Mr. Smith’s invovlement in the upcoming Men In Black 3 have been swirling around for some time now. Word is there was no commitment for him to reprise his role as Agent Jay until a solid writer was brought on board to write the script.

 Sony has now confirmed the writer of Tropic Thunder is on the project now and Sony will be moving forward with bringing MIB3 to the big screen. We can’t imagine Sony would move without Will Smith’s involvement though so look for some news soon.

A&E announces the Jackson Family reality show just in time to correspond with This Is It. Official name of the show is “The Jackson’s: A Family Dynasty.” No word yet on when it will air.
