JaRule x I’m In Love With a Church Girl. You know those movies and TV shows where the title pretty much explains the whole plot? Yea this is one of them. Kinda like “Lost.” What’s “Lost” you ask? People who are lost. What is I’m In Love With a Church Girl about? A dude (JaRule) who falls in love with a church girl. Nuff said.

Ok to thicken the plot, Ja plays a drug dealer who must decide between his old school thug life or a new life of love, romance and Adrienne Bailon who plays Ja’s love interest. With that said…we say go for the thug life. The movie is being produced by independent movie company Reverence Gospel Media and starts filming in Northern California in May.

Kanye West x The Cleveland Show. Proving that he actually does have a sense of humor, Kanye West will be making a guest voice appearance on an upcoming episode of “The Cleveland Show.” According to EW, in the episode, Kanye voices a 19-year-old local hero named Kenny West, who gets into a freestyle battle with the show’s Cleveland Brown, Jr. over a young woman voiced by Taraji P. Henson.

The episode is set to air May 2nd on FOX. Let’s hope it’s as memorable as South Park’s “fish sticks” episode. One can only hope. Enjoy this first official pic of Kanye Kenny for now. Via: 2DopeBoyz

Here is the latest clip from Adult Swim which features Freaknik (T-Pain) and DJ Drama. This looks like classic material. Can’t wait to see the whole thing. A Tribe Called Quest x Beats, Rhymes & Life. Actor and filmmaker Michael Rapaport has been working on his documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest for some time now with the promise that it will be ready for 2010. Looks like Rapaport is making good on that promise as he has launched the official ATribeCalledQuestMovie.com website and gives the update that although the film has been two years in the making, it currently is in the final editing stages.

Check this new clip from the film where Ludacris gives his take on ATCQ and how the group has influenced today’s artists and the current state of hip-hop. No release date is planned yet for the movie but it definitely will make its way around the film festival circuit this year.

Chilli x VH1. The last we’ve heard from Chilli was on her partnership with Dasani Water and L’Oreal. The TLC member is currently developing a reality show with VH1 which is set to be release sometime next month. You can compare this show to “Lets Talk About Pep” where Chilli is in the same boat as Pepper looking to find love. What’s up with beautiful R&B singers not being able to find a man? Russell Simmons x Comedy Central. Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan the producers of “Def Comedy Jam” are developing a new stand-up series with cable network Comedy Central.

“We’ve been trying to get into business with Russell and Stan for a while now and this new stand-up series is an exciting first venture for us to partner with them,” said Elizabeth Porter, senior vp, specials and talent. “As someone who was a huge fan of ‘Def Comedy Jam,’ working alongside these two incredible visionaries on this series has been nothing short of amazing.”

The “Def Comedy Jam” series helped start the careers of Chris Tucker, Dave Chappelle, Martin Lawrence and more. To begin your day with a chuckle check the jump for a performance by Damon Wayans Jr.

50 Cent x Things Fall Apart. 50 Cent will star in the Mario VanPeebles produced drama Things Fall Apart where he will play a college football star running back who is stricken with cancer. According to Variety 50 will shed over sixty pounds for the role.

“Fifty is in the process of losing 65 pounds” for the role,” the film’s co-producer, Randall Emmett told Daily Variety.

We would expect this type of dedication for someone maybe like Christian Bale like in American Psycho, but for 50 Cent to lose that much weight for an acting role just shows his dedication to the art and his desire to be taken as a serious actor and not cast in “rap/thug” stereotypical roles.

Things Fall Apart will be produced under 50’s Cheetah Vision production company and will seek a major film distributor in the coming months. This should be an interesting one and at the least will make for some great publicity for 50 Cent Curtis Jackson the actor.  Via: SlashFilm

JaRule x Wrong Side of Town. This straight-to-DVD flick stars wrestlers Batista and Rob Van Dam who regulate against a crew of thugs to get back a kidnapped girl. Check the clip here where Batista goes head-to-head against….Jeffrey Atkins? Yea. JaRule. How this is a fair fight to begin with baffles me. Ashanti x Written Entertainment. The First Lady of  Murder Inc. is back on the scene as she is set to launch a new reality show. Ashanti’s mom/manger ( a momager?) gave a little more insight into the pending deal.

“It’s an unscripted television show that is definitely music related. We’ll be revealing more in the coming weeks. She has her own record label, called Written Entertainment, and the show is going to revolve around her label… It’s going to be really big.”

While we are not sure how big the show will really be, early word is it will be similar to “American Idol.” Let’s just hope Ja and Irv aren’t the judges. As of now there is no footage of the show yet and there is no TV distribution deal in place so the reality is the show still has a long way to go before we ever see this hit the our TVs.
