50 Cent x FUSE. In this interview with FUSE, 50 claims he has all of us hip-hop bloggers figured out and that everyone just follows each other. Too bad he doesn’t show what blogs he is talking about in the clip but most of the time artists go after blogs is when they get disappointing news.

So what…his album didn’t sell like “Get Rich or Die Tryin” but honestly…no way units are going to like they did back then. If anything though, this interview once again proves the power that blogs have in today’s hip-hop industry. Via: NahRight

50 Cent x The Tonight Show. 50 kicked off his Before I Self Destruct media tour with an appearance and performance on “The Tonight Show” last night. He gives some pretty good insight into his current business dealings and building his 50 Cent empire in the interview. Via: RealTalkNY

50 Cent x Cheetah Vision. Although 50 Cent’s first movie under his Cheetah Vision production company banner is the Before I Self Destruct movie included in the upcoming album, big things are in store and set to get bigger. Cheetah Vision has just announced it is partnering up with Action Jackson films to finance and produce 3-5 films a year starting with The Gun.

The Gun will star 50 Cent and his new BFF Val Kilmer (remember the straight to DVD Streets of Blood anyone?) where 50 and Kilmer play friends whose loyalties are tested when they get caught up in the world of illegal gun dealing. Pic will shoot in Grand Rapids, Mich., with Chris Lighty on board as a producer.

50 Cent x Before I Self Destruct. 50 gives us a 10 minute preview of his upcoming movie Before I Self Destruct which will be packaged with the album. Yea you can tell from the production value right away that this was never intended for studio distribution. Still…50 in cornrows is worth the watch. Check it.

50 Cent x Vitamin Water. Vitamin Water, the company that made 50 Cent filthy rich, is launching a new iPhone app in partnership with 50 Cent and developer Romplr called “50’s Sound Lab” which will allow you to mix remix parts of 50 Cent’s album on their iPhone including his recent single “Baby By Me.” The best user-generated remix will win studio time with 50 Cent himself.

“Vitaminwater is calling on all of its fans to get inspired and start mixing it up with 50’s Sound Lab App,” said Rohan Oza, chief marketing officer of Vitaminwater, smartwater and vitaminwater10. “50 cent is a part of the Vitaminwater family and we are excited to be able to share his new single with everyone through this groundbreaking social media experience for iPhone and iPod touch.”

50 Cent might have a $440 million net worth but according to CNN it takes him $20,000 a week to keep his empire and his Connecticut mansion safe and intact with private security costs. Do the math and it’s over $1 million a year to keep 50 Cent safe and sound and free from any of his past-life goonery.

“My home is surrounded by cameras. I need surveillance not only to look out for me but also to protect me. You get all these crazy lawsuits, and I need cameras to check on things,” stated 50 Cent.

Although $20K a week might seem excessive, according to private security professionals like retired New York Police Detective Thomas Werther, it’s actually on the cheaper end. Maybe that’s because 50 also like to hire some of the “local” protection instead of trained armed forces cats.

50 Cent x Power by 50. 50 Cent in Macy’s during his Power by 50 cologne tour in Atlanta. Has anyone took a sniff of the new fragrnace? Can it compete with Diddy’s I Am King?

50 Cent continues to take the marketing background he’s learned making and promoting movies to his album release strategy. As reported, 50’s album release of “Before I Self Destruct” will also contain a movie of the same name.

In true Hollywood (although it took place in New York) fashion, 50 threw a premiere for the movie yesterday. Even if his album doesn’t end up moving units I still give him major ups for doing something different with his marketing strategy. Well…it also shows how bad 50 wants to be a full blown movie star. 50 Cent x Power by 50. As we reported earlier, 50 Cent is set for a mall tour tomorrow to kick off the publicity campaign for his upcoming Power by 50 cologne. The cologne will be sold exclusively at Macy’s. Now the official print ad which will be featured in national men’s magazines has been released.

It was only a matter of time before 50 entered the lucrative fragrance and cosmetics business. Let’s see if it can move units though like “Get Rich or Die Tryin.”
