Beyonce’s “Heat” perfume already at $3 million in sales

Beyonce x Heat. It’s no secret why every celebrity around wants to get into the fragrance business…it’s big money IF it works. What you don’t hear about are the countless failed celeb fragrances though. In this case, Beyonce is no failure. According to Women’s World Daily, Beyonce’s Heat perfume (see TV ad) has already sold over $3 million worth of the stuff in just one month.

72,000 bottles alone were sold in a single hour during an in-person N.Y.C. appearance by the star once again proving her long-standing celebrity appeal. Beyonce continues to be one of the most successful and prominent product endorsers in music history. Some call it selling out…we call it MAKING THAT MONEY!

Beyonce x Phoenix House. Phoenix House in Brooklyn, New York opens a new cosmetology school named in Beyonce’s honor. The school allows recovering addicts to rebuild their lives and embark on careers in the cosmetics industry. The R&B singer spent her time there while researching her role as she played former heroine addict Etta James in the 2008 film Cadillac Records. She later donated her salary she received from the film and developed an idea to add a cosmetology program for the women and men in treatment. Via: Concrete Loop

Beyoncé x Vizio. Beyoncé will be the spokeswoman in a 30-60 second ad for Vizio, a fast-growing HDTV and consumer electronics company. The ad will appear during the 4th quarter of Super Bowl XLIV. The company signed a 3 year deal to have the singer endorse its products. In the agreement Beyoncé will be a part of Vizio’s ad campaigns and participate in the design and performance characteristics for the company’s new products.

“Beyoncé is in an elite class of entertainers who are globally known and respected for their talent on stage and in front of the camera,” Laynie Newsome, Vizio’s co-founder and vice president of sales and marketing communications said in a press release. “We believe both VIZIO and Beyoncé are closely aligned as American success stories who have redefined the rules in our respective industries.”

As for Beyoncé’s statement: ”What I love about VIZIO is how committed they have been to customers and their focus on delivering tremendous performance at a great value … As a performer, I can relate to that, because my fans spend their hard-earned money to see me perform, and I give everything I can to make sure I exceed their expectations. I’m excited to be associated with such a successful company.”

With ad spots for the Super Bowl starting at $3 million will this ad be stimulating as Janet Jackson’s MTV “wardrobe malfunction”? One can only hope.

Beyoncé taps into the gaming market by helping introduce “Style Savvy” a fashion orientated game for Ninendo DS and Nintendo DSi users…who said chicks don’t dig video games? The game turns players into managers of a virtual boutique. The goal is to accommodate customers’ budgets and needs, then use the accumulated cash to restock your stores, bearing in mind such factors as seasonal changes.

As part of its arrangement with Beyoncé, Nintendo plans to introduce five items from her Deréon line early this year. In a recent interview from USA TODAY Beyonce states:

“Fashion is something I’ve been familiar with my whole life,” she says in an interview before the shoot. So when Nintendo tapped her to represent its product, she was happy to oblige.

“It can teach young girls a sense of business and of responsibility,” Beyoncé says. “You have to be a good listener and pay attention to what the customers want. It also teaches you about fashion, using terms that fashion people use, like ‘asymmetrical.’ “

Beyonce x Heat. Here is the full :30 TV spot for Beyonce’s new “Heat” perfume ad campaign. Seems like Beyonce will do whatever it takes to make sure she is endorsing some kind of product even if it means creating more of her own. I agree with some of our readers that “Fierce” might have been a more appropriate name but what do I know? I just use Johnson Baby Powder and Cool Water cologne. Beyonce x Wynn. You know Vegas is hurting when your in-box is bombarded with hotel deals practically giving away free nights, free shows, buffets, etc. But that’s not stopping billionaire Steve Wynn and his Wynn Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. We recently received official news that the Wynn is aggressively trying to sign Beyonce to a long term performance deal. Wynn Resorts spokeswoman Jennifer Dunne says there’s no deal yet, despite published rumors of a lucrative, long-term contract.

Beyonce appeared at the Wynn for a series of shows this year while filming a concert DVD. Her shows helped lift revenues and traffic at the resort which is exactly why they are trying to lock her in for a long term deal. I guess since Celine Dione is gone, Vegas is due for another Diva to rule the City of Sin.
