Sony Screen Gems has just released this new updated trailer to Takers which really sets up the story well as a big time cops vs. robbers action flick.
Those Chris Brown fans will be happy to know he is part of the marketing campaign…this new trailer also features T.I.’s single “Yeah U Know” which is the unofficial Takers theme song.
Looks like the folks at Sony listened to all the fans complaining about what a bad Photoshop job they did on the original Takers movie poster. Gone is the bloated Photochopped head of T.I. but also gone is Chris Brown who is no where to be seen in this new version. We are not going to speculate why he was removed from the new poster in fear of the backlash we will receive from the five remaining Chris Brown fans out there. Movie hits theaters August 20th.
T.I. x Chris Brown x Takers. After taking a look at the U.S. version of the Takers trailer (after the jump) which was released back in October of 2009, it’s obvious that T.I. and Chris Brown get some major credit and screen time alongside full-time actors like Paul Walker and Suck-Ass Vader Hayden Christensen. Easy to see that Screen Gems is using them to push “urban” but still have Walker and Christensen to broaden the appeal as well.
Now take a look at the new International trailer of Takers shown above. If you happen to be a T.I. or Chris Brown fan you will notice one thing…they are taken out. Sure you can hear T.I. in the voice over but the majority of shots of both of them from the U.S. trailer are completely taken out and their screen credits are completely gone.
Now before we all go screaming “RACIST!!!” remember that marketing is about appealing to your target demo and in regards to international appeal, T.I. and Chris Brown just are not as appealing as some white dudes who can’t act. That’s the sad part. Take a look though, compare and see for yourself. Once again…U.S. trailer shown after the jump….
T.I. x Chris Brown x Takers. WoooHa has the exclusive first look pics of T.I., Chris Brown and the rest of the cast of the upcoming action crime thriller Takers (trailer here). Although we have received some backlash from the hardcore CB fans for not supporting this film we actually DO support it…but because of Mr. Clifford Harris who we respect as an actor and a musician. Check more pics after the jump…
In last weeks’ “WoooHa Poll of the Week” we asked 100 WoooHa readers “How much longer will Twitter be the hot thing in hip-hop? The results came back as follows:
So 72% think Twitter will last another year in hip-hop before everyone migrates along to the next big thing. Looks like our readers are pretty damn in tune with what’s been going down lately in the Twitterverse. First you had Cudi publicly denouncing Twitter last week, and now just yesterday Chris Brown officially deleted his Twitter account after one too many PR nightmares.
As more and more artists find themselves in more trouble than good with Twitter it will only be a matter of time before more artist managers and publicists put the shut down on their clients’ Twitter account. Who is next to bail from Twitter?
Juelz is back with his new single “Back to the Crib” and has enlisted Chris Brown of all people to jump in on the “featuring” credit. Check the video after the jump.
Although the industry might be jumping off the Twitter bandwagon, at least we know one good use for it these days…complaining about album sales. Here is Chris Brown’s latest Tweet where he complains about the music industry.
Maybe instead of complaining about his lack of sales he should be spending his time…shutting the heck up. CB should be lucky he even moved 90-100K first week units.
