If you are Diddy then you can afford to make your own movie which is what he did with his James Bond-like mini-movie for his I Am King cologne. And now he has followed this up with a three minute mini-movie for his Ciroc Vodka which is basically an extension of his recent Rat Pack inspired commercial. The mini-movie starts at 2:11 into the clip. Clearly Diddy is still pushing for his acting career

What recession? In this video blog, Diddy is offering the Mayor and city of New York $1 million if they change the famed Times Square New Years ball to Ciroc’s blue color. They don’t even have to label the ball with any Ciroc messaging…just label the ball “Ciroc” blue

Diddy wants YOU to enter the “I Am King” contest
In his new YouTube video, Diddy clarifies again that his recent “I Am King” fragrance is NOT about him, it’s about all guys who deserve to be treated like kings. You know…ha-kuna-mata style. Anyways, Diddy wants YOU (if YOU=a guy) to enter his video contest where users submit a 90 second video of why they are king.
Three winners will be chosen where they will be flown in to NY, tour the Bad Boy offices, go on a shopping spree, dinner and hit the clubs. All on Diddy’s bill. He can explain the rest. Go to the official “I Am King” website for more details.

If you have been to Times Square this past week you have most likely seen it. The 172 x 54 foot billboard towering over New York’s busiest blocks is a can’t miss as it is over two times larger than any other ad in Times Square. The ad (shown below) is simply Diddy in a tux with the I Am King tag line. But in true Diddy fashion, he has been getting some criticism that the ads, which are now in Los Angeles on Sunset Blvd and in Miami, are arrogant and concieted. So Diddy released the following statement:
“I am really proud of the new billboard and of the message that it conveys to everyone who gets to see it. I Am King is not just about me, but every man. We are all descendants of kings. And if all men believe in that, we can accomplish anything. This image pays tribute to that belief, that ideal.”

Video: Diddy’s “I Am King” cologne mini-movie
Diddy filmed this 5 min. mini-movie to promote his brand new cologne called “I Am King.” While it is labeled a movie by Diddy, it’s obvious that this is just a 5 min. commercial and his attempt to become the next James Bond. All scenes were shot on location where Diddy traveled to exotic locations like Monaco and Saint-Tropez with models Bar Refaeli and Ana Paula, rode jet skis around the French Riviera, lounged aboard his yacht and gambled inside the Casino de Paris in Monte Carlo.
You can check out the full “I Am King” print ad campaign here. Diddy will follow up with a perfume called “I Am Queen” in 2009. Here is his latest official statement about the mini-movie:
I am debuting my new movie “I Am King” for my new fragrance “I Am King” which is available exclusively at Macy’s. This fragrance is dedicated to Barack Obama, Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King and all you men out there who take care of your families and respect and treat yourself like the Kings that we are all. I would like to also announce that this is my audition tape for the next James Bond. There is a black president and it’s time for there to be a black Bond. God Bless.

Diddy appears on this recent episode of the Speed Channel’s “Unique Whips” as he challenges the team to customize his twin Jeeps with some Sean John style.
Diddy to guest appear in “CSI: Miami”
Entertainment Tonight recently broke the news that Diddy has finalized negotiations with the producers of the “CSI” TV series to star in a two-episode arch of “CSI: Miami” alongside good ol David Caruso. In the two part series, Diddy will play of all things a federal prosecutor out to make Horatio’s life miserable as he has an agenda against the CSI team. The episodes are planned for an early 2009 airing.
Diddy as a federal prosecutor huh? Now this will really be a test of how good his acting skills are. Well at least those acting classes and high-profile agents are paying off. Now when are we going to see that “Bourne meets Bond” action movie he always is talking about?
Diddy’s newest “I Am King” cologne ad
Considering his recent announcement of his new marketing strategy involving Obama, I’m surprised Diddy’s brand new “I Am King” ad shown here does not have him wearing an Obama Halloween mask on or even a “YES WE CAN” t-shirt. Regardless, this newest print ad is circulating nationally in urban skewed magazines. The cologne is set for a December 2008 release date exclusively at Macy’s.

Diddy drafts off Obama to help sell new Sean John cologne

Diddy gets marketing props for this one. Some might say it’s pretty low, others might say it’s genius. Diddy is launching his new “I Am King” Sean John fragrance (see entire ad campaign here) set to hit stores next month. Although he has print and TV ads in place, Diddy is somewhat shifting focus and using our next U.S. President as marketing bait.
Diddy told The Wall Street Journal “When you see Barack Obama, you see a strong, elegant black man and when people see my ad, it’s almost like that’s the trend.“ Although Obama will not be officially sponsoring the cologne in any way, Diddy plans to promote the fragrance in a lunch he will hold in Los Angeles and on TV talk shows and link his new fragrance and Obama. Let’s see how far Diddy can push it before he gets a call from The Secret Service. That’s one gang he can’t mess with.
