Mercedes-Benz has requested the talents of David Banner to craft a tribute song to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the automobile. Banner sampled the classic Janis Joplin track “Mercedes Benz”, which also features Estelle and Daley. The trio is scheduled to perform the song live at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show in China.

Estelle x Belvedere. We have seen plenty of artist x alcohol partner collaborations. Just last week Swizz Beatz and Hennesy teamed together for a custom music video and even a dance contest (see details). Looks like Belvedere is trying to one up the competition by collaborating with Estelle to create a custom night bag to celebrate the launch of Belvedere Black Raspberry.

The bag is called the Belvie and will be sold nation wide for $1,400. The Belvie and Estelle will also be used in their marketing campaign.

Artists¬†promoting artists. Estelle and Bootsy Collins both teamed up with Snoop Dogg as each artist¬†remixed their own versions of the theme song to Snoops E! reality show “Father Hood.” As WoooHa, Inc. reported, there looks to be a fair amount of guest stars and even a trip to Amsterdam in store for Snoop and family in Season 2 which premieres Nov 30th on E!.¬†¬†

This is a unique little marketing twist here. Seems these days anything is fair game for a remix or custom version of a theme song or jingle. From Chris Brown’s Double Mint Gum ad, to T.I. remixing the famed NBC network jingle.
