What kind of fears do you have about releasing your album?
Kid Cudi: I don’t really have any fear about the business; my biggest fear is getting wrapped up in the illusion of fame and Hollywood and shit like that. Getting wrapped up in the worldly things like drugs and the excitement of being famous. I have a vulnerable enough past that it could propel me into that world. I don’t want to be caught up in it. I want to do something while I’m here. This is hell. All the shit that’s going on around us, this is hell.
But do you feel like your own world ia hell sometimes ?
Kid Cudi: Yeah. Most of my groupies are spawns of the devil. [Laughs.] They’re there to take me off track and fuck up my purpose. It’s like the dark side is trying to pull me in. Who wouldn’t like a bunch of hot-ass bitches saying, “Hey, we all wanna fuck you right now!”? [Laughs.] But you have to realize that it’s an illusion, that you can get caught up, turn into a person that you never knew you could be—and I don’t wanna be that dude.

Kid Cudi to star in HBO series “How To Make It In America”
Kid Cudi x How To Make It In America. Cudi still has yet to release a major full-length album and he already has secured a lead role in a TV series. Cudi recently confirmed he will be starring in the new HBO series “How To Make It In America” to the Arizona Republic newspaper and stated the following:
‚ÄúIt’s called “How to Make It in America.” It’s produced by the guys that did Entourage. Mark Wahlberg is the executive producer. It’s directed by Julian Farino, who also did Sex and the City, several episodes of that and The Sopranos, and Entourage. I have a lead role. My character’s name is Domingo Dean. I actually named my character after both of my brothers – Dean, who lives in Phoenix, being one of them, and Domingo.‚Äù
The show will follow three twenty-something hopefuls in New York (Cudi being one of them) who is striving to live the American dream. Cudi was insistent though that his character in the show have nothing to do with music. The comedy was just announced with no production schedule or details as of yet. Props to Cudi for landing such a major role with little experience.

Kid Cudi talks Reebok situation

Kid Cudi x Reebok. If you keep up on your Cudi news then you remember he had it in with a Reebok rep when he refused to wear the shoes at a concert. This led to a scuffle between Cudi, Cudi’s bodygurad and the Reebok rep. This happened awhile ago. I just assumed Cudi thought the Reebok’s were ugly and didn’t want to ruin his reputation. I was kinda right. Cudi finally talks about it in this new interview with Complex.Yes Cudi does have a bodyguard named Zule. Now where is the Gatekeeper!
Complex: So, the Reebok situation. There were a lot of rumors about you getting tasered by the police after wearing Jordans to a Reebok party. You never really addressed it outside of a blog post…
Kid Cudi: It was never about Reebok, the brand or anything like that. Nike don’t always make the dopest shoes, no brand makes dope shit all the time. I was opposed to the shoes they tried to give me—I didn’t like them. I didn’t get into because it was Reebok people, I got into it with one individual who approached me the wrong way. I’m a man at the end of the day. I’m not a fighter, I don’t like violence—hell, I don’t even know if I know how to fight. I’m not a strategic fighter, that’s not my steez. I don’t know how to work a gun if you gave me one, I wouldn’t want to fucking touch it. But at the same time, I ain’t no sucker and I was in a situation where a dude was trying to test me as a man. I let it get to me, but that will never happen again. A nigga want to test me? So what. I will never let anyone rub me the wrong way. It’s something I don’t regret at all. It was something I needed to do at that time. That dude was wrong. I reacted off of his reaction. He interfered in a conversation I was having with two other people. I wasn’t even the first one to put hands on him, my security Zule was. I tell people, he’s always close, he’s not even certified, he’s just a nigga from the hood.
