Method Man x The Mortician 3D. Meth has joined the cast of the indie UK produced movie The Mortician 3D. Movie is bankrolled for a $6 million budget and does not have U.S. distribution yet but is currently set to start filming in Louisiana. Currently pegged as a gritty urban drama, one would be surprised it’s getting the 3D treatment usually reserved for action films, horror or family movies.

Our sources though involved with the film state that it will actually be a lot grittier, darker and with elements of horror which compelled them to shoot in 3D. Afterall, it is a movie about a mortician. Meth will play the lead as the messed up mortician. Check the official synopsis after the jump.

The Mortician is a redemption tale where kindness triumphs over cruelty and falls within the genres of urban noir, contemporary fairytale and thriller. The film is set in the nightmare ghetto of a decaying metropolis and is based around about one man’s struggle through the violence and corruption of a dying city. The Mortician processes corpses with a steely regard and as a borderline autistic, he is alienated.

Through his emotionless and unsympathetic actions he spreads his coldness to all he encounters. The Mortician’s attention is pricked by the tattoo of Botticelli’s ‘Birth of Venus’ on the body of a murdered young woman, Jenny. A fleeting recognition triggers a sequence of haunting dreams from his childhood. He discovers a scared child, Kane, fleeing the morgue. The danger that confronts them forces the Mortician to awake from his icy state as he is compelled to forge real emotional links with both the living and the dead. Via: Production Weekly

Dayam I wish this was a real movie. Love the freakin’ Wu. Don’t forget to watch Part I. Here’s hoping Part III doesn’t end up with RZA’s head in a box.

Method Man x Ne-Yo x Red Tails. Meth and Ne-Yo have both landed some very coveted roles in Hollywood. They will both be starring in the George Lucas movie Red Tails which is about African-American pilots in World War II who must overcome racism in order to fight for America.

Interesting. I just assumed since it was a Lucas film it would involve Storm Troopers, TIE Fighters and light sabers. Now only if the World War II pilots had TIE Fighters. THAT’s a movie! Red Tails also will star Terrance Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr.

Here is the official cover to the upcoming graphic novel “Method Man” written by Meth himself and drawn by famed comic book artist Sanford Greene. The much anticipated graphic novel finally comes out July 23rd as both Method Man and Mr. Greene will be taking part in promotional efforts for the book as well.
