Milli Vanilli movie coming to a theater near you!
Word on the Street is that Bret Ratner, everyone’s favorite director they love to hate (Rush Hour franchise), is in talks to direct an official Milli Vanilli movie. The project apparently has some big time producing support as Kathleen Kennedy, the exec producer of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Munich, is exec producing this film as well.
So that means all your favorite Rob and Fab moments will be shown on the big screen including “Blame it on the Rain” and “Don’t Forget My Number.” Unfortunately, the movie will focus on the scandal behind the group as it was revealed they were fakes. Just for inspiration, I leave you with this video.
“Style Wars” Blu-ray release w/ hours of additional footage
If you know want to get a crash course in hip-hop history there are a couple of key films you need to watch…Style Wars is one of them. The documentary, which covered the four elements of hip-hop, was first aired way back in 1983 on PBS. According to the film producer’s there was more than 29 hours of additional footage that never made the cut. So for the upcoming Blu-ray release the filmmakers are going back to the vaults and cutting the additional never-before-seen footage. Check out some of it from this video. Via: HipHopDx
“Fast & Furious” teaser movie poster

Here is the teaser poster to the upcoming Fast & Furious which features all the original cast members including Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordanna Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez. What do you guys think? Any interest? The trailer is after the jump.
Will Smith’s kid confirmed for “Karate Kid” remake
I got nothing but respect for little Jaden Smith getting his hustle on. As the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett he was bound to do some good things due to his genetics (like The Pursuit of Happyness). But this latest news, it’s not good at all…no Jaden, not at all.
Variety has confirmed that Jaden Smith is set to star in a remake of The Karate Kid. That’s messing with holy material right there. Minus well get the Jonas Brothers to do a remake of Boyz N The Hood next. Smith will star in a “refashioned” remake of the 1980’s classic with the film set to shoot next year in Beijing. The screenplay is said to “borrow elements” from the original film, and is not a strict remake but will include a Mr. Miyagi type character.
I’m not mad at Jaden for this news. After all, the kid wasn’t even born. I’m mad at myself for ever liking The Karate Kid so much in the first place. “Yeeeeaaaahhhh Johnnny!!! Put em in a body bag!!!!” Just don’t touch House Party. The original that is. The other 50 versions of it don’t count.
The real reason why Terrence Howard got booted off “Iron Man 2″

There has been a lot of speculation as to why Terrence Howard was recently booted off the lucrative Iron Man franchise as James Rhodes (who eventually becomes War Machine.) Howard stated he actually was blind-sided by the announcement and was not even told directly. However, according to EW, Howard was the first actor signed on for Iron Man, and manged to be the highest paid actor on the project even above Robert Downey Jr. EW then goes on to state that “Favreau and his producers were ultimately unhappy with Howard’s performance, and spent a lot of time cutting and reshooting his scenes.”
And now with Iron Man 2, the writer origianlly decided to minimize Jim Rhodes’ role in the sequel which resulted in Marvel offering Howard an estimated 50% to 80% pay cut from the first movie which was more in line with the supporting cast member’s salary of the first film. Of course this didn’t sit well with Howard and the rest they say…is history. And Don Cheadle is now sitting pretty.
Don Cheadle replaces Terrence Howard in “Iron Man 2″

Terrence Howard was all set to take a much bigger role as James Rhodes in the upcoming Iron Man 2 where he eventually becomes the infamous War Machine. But now, Terrence will have to put those dreams aside as Marvel Studios has officially announced he is being replaced by Don Cheadle. Marvel had no official comment, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, negotiations with Howard fell through over financial differences, among other reasons.
Marvel, which had wanted to work with Cheadle, then decided to take the role in another direction and approached the actor who gladly jumped at the opportunity. I have always been a fan of Djay (WHOOP THAT TRICK!) but playing War Machine and the potential for a possible spin-off was an opportunity that could have elevated Howard’s status.
Tyler Perry expands empire, launches 34th Street Films
According to The Variety, Tyler Perry and his Tyler Perry Studios has formed 34th Street Films to produce projects under the Tyler Perry name but focusing on projects written and directed by outside talent. The 34th Street Films office will be located in Los Angeles and report directly to Perry’s Head Quarters in Atlanta.
In July, Lionsgate signed Perry to a three-year production deal that calls for the studio to handle at least three more Perry films after Madea Goes to Jail, due out Feb. 20. Lionsgate has released six Perry pics, including the recent The Family That Preys which opened last week and was Perry’s second smallest opening of the six movies. Perhaps injecting some fresh blood and material into Perry’s team is not such a bad idea. To show hi willingness to expand beyond his staple “African-American family relationship” movies, Perry has hired a Caucasian exec who previously produced the Final Destination horror franchise to run 34th Street Films.
Mariah Carey set to star in new movie “Push”

According to New York’s Daily News, Mariah Carey has been cast in the upcoming movie Push, as a social worker from Harlem, looking after an HIV-positive woman impregnated twice by her father. Wow that’s messed up. Director Lee Daniels gave Carey the role after working with her in his earlier film Tennessee which hits theaters in December. Mariah’s role in Tennessee was met with mixed reviews but overall redeemed herself from the disaster only known as Glitter. Lee Daniels is best known for his work producing Monster’s Ball with Halle Berry and Diddy.
Carey will also work on the development of a movie musical based on her 1994 album Merry Christmas. The plot is set on a ruthless developer wanting to transform a small town into a gigantic mall.
“Mariah doesn’t want to let that happen,” Mariah’s old manager Benny Medina told the Daily News. “Her character uses song and love to keep the Christmas spirit alive.”
With High School Musical writer Peter Barschonni behind the script, Carey also talked about the importance of this project and its’ timing.
“Since I recorded the Christmas album, I’ve always wanted to make a movie to go with it, something that people could watch and hear and enjoy every year,” she told the Daily News. “I’m into it. I’m all about the holiday season.”
New movie posters for “The Spirit”
Frank Miller’s (Sin City) newest movie The Spirit has been getting major buzz from movie and comic book fan boys. And with Eva Mendes in it and Sam Jackson as The Octopus well we aren’t complaining. Lionsgate just released these two posters from the film. Movie comes out Christmas Day 2008 against the Bow Wow and Lil Wayne basketball movie Hurricane Season.
Official synopsis as follows: Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again. When a Rookie cop named Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face who has other plans. He’s going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold hearted killer from the city’s rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

Video: A scene straight from “Saw V”
We didn’t live up with that Megan Good Saw V pic of her climbing through a tunnel so to make up for it here is a three minute clip straight from the movie. Once again beware…these torture contraptions are pretty hardcore. I’d rather listen to a two speech by Sarah Palin than get stuck in this thing.
First photo of Megan Good in “Saw V”
If Lionsgate is going to release their first official photo of Megan Good in Saw V one would hope that it would be a shot of her in a bikini or at least caught in one of Jigsaw’s famed death contraptions. Nope. Instead you get the Good crawling through a tunnel. Yay! How exciting. Check out the teaser trailer to be more amused (if you are into this Saw stuff). Since we at WoooHa, Inc. do not want to disappoint, we also included another photo of Megan (not from the movie) for your viewing pleasure. I hope that makes up for it.
