20th Century Fox hooks it up again. I’m giving away 3 DVDs (buy the Blu-ray yourself) of the new NOTORIOUS Unrated Director’s Cut which hits stores tomorrow. All you have to do is leave a comment about what your favorite Biggie song is and leave your e-mail address IN THE E-MAIL BOX (not in the body of the comment box). I will then choose three winners this Thursday. If you win you will be contacted by e-mail so I can get your shipping instructions.

Remember, this is the UNRATED DIRECTOR’S CUT…so if you have the bootleg then you haven’t seen this version. If you are impatient like I am…just buy it tomorrow at Best Buy or Wal-Mart. Or make your mom buy it for you. It’s educational…hip-hop history. This contest is for the single disc and not for the 3-Disc Collector’s Edition which has over 2 hours of behind the scenes extras.

WoooHa Exclusive: “NOTORIOUS: The Ladies” video clip

We have partnered with 20th Century Fox for today’s release of NOTORIOUS on DVD (and don’t forget that Naturi nude scene in hi-def Bluray) and present to you this exclusive clip from the Unrated Director’s Cut. Check out the video after the jump. The video is called “The Ladies” and it’s pretty obvious what it’s about. Faith>Kim in my book.

And don’t forget to enter our contest where you can win the NOTORIOUS DVD….or just buy it. But don’t download it or studios won’t exist any more and I won’t have any more free stuff to give away.

Where’s Biggie? Where’s the Beef? Biggie’s new t-shirt

Notorious B.I.G. x Rocksmith. Street wear company Rocksmith has just released these Biggie shirts playing off of Wendy’s Biggie-sized fries. Cop em for a mere $33 here. Sorry…the only thing worth getting at Wendy’s is that killer chocolate frosty. Mmmmmm. Via: DD

Jadakiss denies getting paid for Coogi song placement

Jadakiss x Coogi. Jadakiss was getting heat from mainstream press like Gawker for his overt use of Coogi sweaters in his tribute song “Letter to B.I.G.” Of course to us hip-hop fans we know Coogi and B.I.G. go hand in hand but Gawker stated that Coogi actually paid Jadakiss “tens of thousands of dollars” to plug Coogi in the song and to wear the signature sweatshirt during the video.

Jadakiss quickly responded to these allegations stating on HipHopDX:

If Coogi came in after the song was already done and wanted to get involved, that’s a different story. If you know anything about B.I.G., he had a million Coogis. My whole time around him, he almost [always] had one on. So that [rumor] is a crock of sh*t.

Yeti says: It’s been awhile since this issue has come up but everyone familiar with the hip-hop game knows that brands and product placement is all part of the movement. From Run DMC and Adidas to Busta and his Courvoisier. Even if Jada did accept money, well then good for him. Coogi is a natural fit for this video as a tribute to B.I.G.

The official “NOTORIOUS” DVD art

Notorious BIG x Notorious. 20th Century Fox just sent us the official DVD art to the B.I.G. biopic Notorious. According to the official press release the DVD and Bluray will be released on April 21st and will include an Unrated Director’s Cut which is a smart move if you ask me since we all saw the cheap ass bootleg two months ago (but still paid to see it in theaters later). The art on the left looks like the art used in the theatrical poster and is the normal DVD version while the art on the right is the Collectors Edition DVD and Bluray which will also be packed with extras.

Yeti says: Even if you didn’t like the movie, this is still a must have for hip-hop fans. And from what I’ve seen so far it looks like the folks marketing this DVD know what they are doing. That Collectors Edition art is right on point (the Juicy lyrics are a nice touch) and a director’s cut is a smart move to motivate us lazy asses to buy the legit version. I hope that means more naked Naturi though…a brotha can hope.

Artist sews Eazy-E & B.I.G. tribute quilts

For the ladies out there now is your chance to sleep with past hip-hop legends like Eazy-E, Notorious BIG, J Dilla and Big L. Artist Anne Brenneke designed and sewed these quilts which were inspired by famous photos of the deceased rappers. The detail on these are crazy and are by far the coolest blankets since Snuggies. Props to Format for the heads up. Check out the J Dilla and Big L quilts after the jump.

Video: Puffy interviews Puffy (Derek Luke)

Diddy starts the self-marketing as he interviews Derek Luke, the actor playing himself in Notorious. It’s been a long time since a major studio has released a pure hip-hop flick so yes naturally we are excited. I expect big things from this movie and at least it has the official “stamp” of approval from Diddy, B.I.G.’s former managers and Voletta Wallace. If Notorious does well, I’m sure we can expect a Tupac movie in the near future. An Aaliyah movie is already in the works. Leads to the question…how soon is too soon though?

“Notorious” Video Diary: Angela Bassett

Considering the movies come out this Friday, I’m assuming this is one of the last of many viral video diaries that the producers of Notorious put together dating back to mid 2008. The strategy seems to have worked as every hip-hop and urban blog has consistently posted them. But will it get people into the theaters? We will find out this Friday! This one is about actress Angela Bassett who plays Biggies’ mom, Voletta Wallace.

Target sells exclusive “Notorious” soundtrack

The internet be crawlin with pics of the Notorious movie premiere which screened on Wed. night in NY. Meanwhile, execs from Target of all places were putting the finishing touches on a deal with Bad Boy and Atlantic Records to release an exclusive version of the movie soundtrack.

According to Billboard, the Target exclusive CD will be a double disc set that includes “Notorious: Music From And Inspired by the Original Motion Picture” (Bad Boy Records) and the exclusive documentary, “Remembering Christopher Wallace,” that is not included on the standard edition. The documentary features interviews with B.I.G.’s mother, daughter and son. The album will be in stores next Tuesday while the movie opens on Fri. the 16th.

Gravy talks going to “B.I.G. Bootcamp” for his role in movie

Jamal Woolard AKA Gravy talked to Sohh.com about preparing for his very large role as the Notorious B.I.G. in the upcoming biopic Notorious. Similar to B.I.G., Gravy also grew up as a New York M.C. and was known for his “large” stature. Regardless of the body-type similarities, Gravy had to undergo rigorous training at the “B.I.G. Bootcamp” where he was

What do you guys think of the art?

Video: “Notorious” movie blog talks choreography

The newest episode of the Notorious movie blogs is all about the choreography and making sure the actors knew how to stand, rap, dance and break it down on stage just like the real B.I.G., Diddy, Lil Kim, etc.

Video: Notorious B.I.G. documentary launching with movie

Close friend of Notorious B.I.G., Damion Butler AKA D-Roc, is releasing a straight-to-DVD documentary about the life and times of Biggie in January 2009. Although the documentary, Biggie Small: Rap Phenomenon, has no connection to the 20th Century Fox biopic Notorious, D-Roc will be releasing at the same time as the movie to capitolize on the added publicity.

Stephen Bolles, an exec for the production company releasing the DVD told HipHop DX[That film] is the Hollywood take on Biggie’s life, whereas [Biggie Small: Rap Phenomenon] is the raw footage; it’s like the two sides of a coin.” The straight-to-DVD comes out in stores on January 27, 2009. Check out the trailer here.
