Pharrell proves love for Super Mario w/ jewelry

Pharrell x Super Mario. Gamers take note. Wearing this Super Mario Bros. jewelry will not get you chicks…unless you are the actual guy who invented Super Mario Bros. or you are Pharrell. Too bad I am neither because I like these. Luckily for Pharrell he can pretty much do whatever he wants and proves it rockin them loud and proud. Brand awareness at its finest. More pics after the jump… Via: TheLifeFiles

VIDEO: Pharrell & N.E.R.D.’s Behind-the-Scenes of BBC/Ice Cream Season 10 Look Book

Pharrell x BBC/ Ice Cream. Hard to imagine that Pharrell’s BBC / Ice Cream clothing lines are going on ten seasons. That’s four more seasons than Lost but BBC/Ice Cream is a lot less confusing…that’s because the clothing line doesn’t go into the past, then go into the future, then get blown up by a hydrogen bomb and split into two alternate realities forever changing life as we know it. I hate Lost. But I sure love BBC/Ice Cream. Check out the behind-the-scenes preview of their next Look Book.

VIDEO: Apple iPad to have little impact on hip-hop industry

Before Steve Job’s announcement of the new Apple iPad yesterday, many music marketers and execs were wondering what kind of  impact Apple’s new product would have on the industry. Now that the word is out, it’s pretty clear that the iPad will not be any type of saving grace for hip-hop or the music industry in general.

WoooHa put the feelers out there to various label and agency execs in the industry and the responses were pretty consistent.

“This means nothing for hip-hop. Basically just a big expensive iPod if you ask me” stated one EMI Music exec. “You can’t really carry it around with you and show people either. Yea it can play videos and it will be another device for video sites like Vevo to play on but part of the appeal with music videos on the iPhone is you can play it and show your friend right there and pass it along.”

The only impact the iPad will have on the industry is that no doubt it will be  featured in upcoming Rick Ross music video and some artist will be the first to have a 24 carat gold or diamond encrusted iPad case. Our bet is on Pharrell. At least Steve Jobs is already getting some great endorsements though as Rihanna already has gone public stating she can’t wait to get her hands on one. Check the video.

VIDEO: Pharrell talks about his “tank chair”

Pharrell the furniture maker, not to be confused with Pharrell the producer or Pharrell the street wear designer, goes into detail about his latest creation, the tank chair. A big tank you to NahRight for the heads up.

VIDEO: Pharrell’s keynote MIDEM interview

Pharrell x MIDEM. Pharrell was the keynote “speaker/interviewee” for the annual MIDEM conference which focuses on the music business. In the 40 min. interview (a must watch for those really wanting to get into the business…not necessarily as just an artist) Pharrell goes into everything from current producing projects to his work on the upcoming movie Despicable Me.

Pharrell’s Ice Cream Orange Tiger jacket

tiger-varsity-jacket-2
Usually it’s hard for us to justify the higher prices of premium streetwear like BBC and Ice Cream but Pharrell’s latest, the Orange Tiger jacket, is pretty dang hard to resist. Of course it’s $880…I’ll wait for the Los Angeles Chinatown knockoff version.

Pharrell shows off his Moncler vest collaboration

Pharrell x Moncler.
Remember that bug looking vest that Pharrell designed for Moncler? Now here is the first pic of him wearing it out in public at a recent Art Basel event. 50 Cent should have jumped on this. It looks like a designer bulletproof vest now.

Pharrell releases $115 BBC/Ice Cream dog pillow

bbc-ice-cream-dog-cushion
Yea that’s $115 U.S. dollars. You must really love your dog to get them this BBC/Ice Cream dog pillow. Wait…or is it just a pillow that’s shaped like a dog and meant for humans? Just ignore the fact these probably cost $0.99 to manufacture in China. Regardless, we actually envy Pharrell’s high margin luxury clothing business model and the millions he reaps in globally every year off of it. Via: BBC Blog

Pharrell the artist on cover of “Modern Painters”

pharrell

The future of the ultimate hip-hop businessman is also….a painter? Pharrell has been doing some major publicity lately (see NY Times interview) but not for N.E.R.D. or a new album he’s producing. Instead, Skateboard P has been pushing his involvement as an actual artist to the point where he even graces the latest issue of “Modern Painters.” Nice to see Pharrell doing some thing unique and interesting with his spare time.

VIDEO: Pharrell talks art w/ NY Times

Although Pharrell is getting a lot of press recently for his upcoming work with The Game, the big thing on Skateboard P’s mind these days is art. He recently completed his second art chair for the Art Basel show, launched an online artist gallery back in April and is set for even more art projects in the near future. Check this interview with the NY Times where he talks all things art.

Pharrell designs “Tank Chair” for art exhibit

pharrell-williams-tank-chair-front
We introduced the world to Pharrell the furniture designer over a year ago as he designed his “leg chair” for the famed Art Basel show. Well this year he is back with another chair, this time simply called “the tank chair” for obvious reasons….it looks like a tank. The Tank Chair comes in overall 4 colorways and is made of plexiglas and full grain colt leather. It will be on display next week at Art Basel Miami.

Don’t forget about Pharrell the bicycle maker and Pharrell the candlestick maker as well. We kid you not…this guy basically can do anything he wants when he wants, the definition of a true business hustler. Via: HighSnobiety

Pharrell collaborates with Visvim for outdoor jacket & vest collection

pharrell-williams-x-moncler-vest
Pharrell x Visvim.
Some how Pharrell finds the time to do all of these collaborations and still make music. The latest here is with Japanese brand Visvim for an outerwear collection called Moncler V designed by Pharrell. The collection features an assortment of all-black jackets, and includes a “pacifist” version of the bulletproof jacket (pictured) and each jacket in the collection is built with textiles from Bionic Yarn, the textile company that Pharrell is part owner of.

Pharrell took an equity stake as part owner of Bionic Yarn back in Q4 of 2008 and has since utilized his own textile company to make many of the collections in his various fashion business ventures including a line of BBC/Ice Cream shirts. Now that’s a business man there as he makes money both from the selling of the materials and the finished goods.

VIDEO: Pharrell & N.E.R.D. perform on episode of “90210″

N.E.R.D. x Pharrell. As a faithful fan of N.E.R.D. I’m a bit shocked that they agreed to film and perform for “90210.” As a business man though it’s clear that Pharrell wants his band to reach a much broader demographic with the addition of a female singer and, well, agreeing to do a show that targets females 13-34. If only Brenda and Brandon were here to see this now.

Is N.E.R.D.’s appearance on “90210″ alienating their current fan base or helping expand it?
