RZA x Tao of Wu. RZA is usually content being behind the scenes as producer and now upcoming film director but the past couple of weeks he has changed things up appearing on multiple talk shows while promoting his book “The Tao of Wu.” Here is the latest of him on “The Colbert Report” giving a hilarious mock-interview.

RZA x Tao of Wu. RZA released his new book “Tao of Wu” last week and has been hitting the publicity circuit for it. Here is his latest in-store book signing and speech which actually was put on at Barnes & Nobel in New York. Nice to know a major chain store supports the Wu.

RZA x Due Date. While RZA has been preparing for his feature film directing debut with the martial arts flick The Man With the Iron Fist, the Wu-Tang front man has slowly been building up his acting resume in the meantime. Impressed with his small but comedic role in Adam Sandler’s Funny People, RZA has now just been cast in the next Todd Phillips (director of The Hangover & Old School) comedy called Due Date.

He will be starring alongside Jaime Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. in “the story a guy with a mismatched travel companion who races home in hopes of arriving before his wife delivers their first child.” Word is that RZA’s role will be much larger than his previous ones like in American Gangster and Funny People.

RZA has been busy with his own film production gearing to direct the martial arts movie The Man With the Iron Fist. In the meantime, RZA is helping out martial arts star Tony Ja promote his upcoming Ong Bak 2 which will actually hit VOD before it hits theaters on 10/23. Although the Wu-Tang Clan have had their recent share of bumps with each other, RZA still has held true to his Wu-Tang philosophy which borders on religion. So it’s no surprise that RZA will be releasing his book “The Tao of Wu” which the publisher, Penguin Books, describes as “part chronicle of an extraordinary life and part spiritual and philosophical discourse” and compared as the “Siddhartha for the hip-hop generation —an engaging, seeking book that will enlighten, entertain, and inspire.” The book hits stores October 15, 2009 and will be available nationwide and online. According to the Los Angeles Times “Funny People” generated $23.4 million on its opening weekend landing the number one spot at the box office. The film which features scenes from Hip Hop artist Emienm and RZA stars Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen. Check out a scene from the movie below which features Emienm.

RZA x Funny People. As we reported earlier, the upcoming Judd Apatow comedy starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen also features a nice little role for our very own Wu-Tang fam RZA. RZA x Hip-Hop Chess Federation. RZA has been a huge part of the succesfull launch of the Hip-Hop Chess Academy and it looks like they are trying to up their game and drum up some publicity. In this video, current CEO Adisa Banjoko challenges President Obama and his administration to a game of chess vs. the Ryan Academy. Jeezy is the face of Belvedere Vodka’s new ad campaign entitled “Circulate” and will feature photography by Terry Richardson. RZA previously teamed up with Richardson for the old Belvedere ad campaign but now is heading in a new direction with Jeezy at the helm. Here is some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot.
