I Am T-Pain still Top 10 top grossing iPhone app

iphone2

T-Pain x I Am T-Pain. As we reported earlier this month, T-Pain’s iPhone app “I Am T-Pain” has been downloaded over 300,000 times grossing the producer close to $1 million. Although some thought it would just be a passing fad, Apple has recently reported their top grossing iPhone applications and “I Am T-Pain” is still going strong at #9.

It is currently out grossing top apps such as EA’s FIFA Soccer, The Sims 3, Scrabble and Monopoly. Although it seems every hip-hop artist these days is coming out with their own iPhone apps as an alternative revenue stream, only T-Pain can really claim true million dollar success.

Pics of T-Pain guest starring in sitcom “Brothers”

T-Pain x Brothers. T-Pain makes his major network TV debut on an upcoming episode of the sitcom “Brothers” which stars former NY Giant Michael Strahan. The episode airs on Friday Oct 9th 8pm on FOX where T-Pain actually plays himself…but broke.  Here is the official storyline:

In the episode, Mike (Michael Strahan) and Chill (Daryl Mitchell) encounter a financially strapped T Pain at Trainor’s, the family’s restaurant.

Guess that means  no “BIG ASS CHAIN” for T-Pain as he results to selling stolen watches to make money. T-Pain previously appeared on a live-action version of “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” where he played Frylock. Check out more pics from the “Brothers” episode after the jump. Via: CL

T-Pain’s “I Am T-Pain” iPhone app downloaded over 300,000 times

T-Pain’s “I Am T-Pain” iPhone app downloaded over 300,000 times

T-Pain x I Am T-Pain. While artists search for new ways to make money outside of actual album sales, T-Pain has already tapped into the lucrative iPhone app business. According to app developer Smule, T-Pain’s “I Am T-Pain” iPhone app has already been downloaded 300,000 times in just three weeks.

At a price of $2.99 per download that’s almost a gross of a cool million dollars. Not bad for a little app that everyone thought was just a gimmick. Regardless of a gimmick or not…it’s T-Pain that is laughing his way to the bank. Via: Mashable

Pics: T-Pain’s $410K “Big Ass Chain” will amaze you

So much for saving some money during the Recession. It must be from all that “I’m on a Boat” money. (yes that was a joke) On one hand T-Pain states don’t judge him for buying this…on the other hand he brags on his Twitter page:

10lbs. 197kts. Very very real I don’t know what fake feel like.$410,000.

Worth almost half a mil? You decide.

PICS: T-Pain immortalizes Dolla (RIP) on his ‘72 Chevy

T-Pain was tight with Dolla (RIP), the artist who was recently killed at the Beverly Center here in Los Angeles. We knew T-Pain and Dolla was tight….but who knew they were THIS tight? This is T-Pain’s 1972 Chevy Chevelle that T-Pain recently got custom painted. I have no comment. Via: Broken Cool

T-Pain to star in live-action “Aqua Teen Hunger Force”

T-Pain x Aqua Teen Hunger Force. T-Pain will play the infamous Frylock in the live-action season finale of Adult Swim’s “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.” This will be the first time that the animated show will go live action and T-Pain gets the honor of playing the wise-cracking box of french fries by adorning a french-fry yellow top hat. Entertainment Weekly dropped the story:

“Pain is a huge fan of the show (he often wears an Ignignokt pendant around his neck and actually did the voice for the ‘Die’ ventriloquist dummy for the ‘Dummy Love’ episode) so he was more than happy to wear his signature stovepipe hat in french-fry yellow for the part.”

This should be one really interesting episode. Check it out on Adult Swim May 31st. Via: Highbrid Nation

Lil Wayne & T-Pain rank higher than Obama on TIME 100 poll

Lil Wayne x T-Pain x TIME. TIME Magazine has just released their famed TIME 100 Poll which lists the top 100 most influential people in the world based on voting by readers. The current poll result highlights include:

#9: Kobe Bryant
#12: Lil Wayne
#34: T-Pain
#37: Barack Obama

Yes, according to current poll results T-Pain is more influential in the world than President Obama. I can see how Kobe is more influential than the Prez simply for the fact Barack can’t score 32 points a game. But T-Pain? Apparently TIME readers are now 12 year old kids from the suburbs. Yes…Jonas Brothers are #33. Don’t believe WoooHa?

T-Pain performs SNL song “I’m on a Boat” in concert

T-Pain x SNL. T-Pain’s SNL music video “I’m on a Boat” with Lonely Island was a pretty funny look at the hype of rappers on boats. But Mr. Pain has taken it to the next level by actually performing the song live…in front of people. Complete with random guys in capes “swimming” on stage. I really don’t know what to think. Props to Marrs for the heads up.

T-Pain to release Auto-Tune app for iPhone

Another reason to buy the iPhone, so you can sound JUST like T-Pain. Mr. Pain is teaming up with the famed Auto-Tune designer Antares to develop an iPhone app that lets you speak and record your voice with the signature Auto-Tune sound.

According to the LA Times, the app won’t let you alter your voice on actual phone calls but instead you will be able to record your Auto-Tuned voice over the beats of T-Pain and listen to them on your iPhone. Under the deal with Antares, T-Pain will do the majority of marketing and publicity for the app and will receive an undisclosed royalty for each app sold. More details to come as the deal continues to develop.

T-Pain’s other business deals included a Pepsi ad campaign and a promotional deal with auto manufacturer Hyundai.

T-Pain is new Hyundai spokesperson

Hyundai has always been known for their cheap but efficient cars with that bulletproof service and mileage warranty (yes I know way too much about Hyudais). In an effort to change their image from conservative and safe, Hyundai is entering the luxury market with the Genesis sedan and is enlisting T-Pain to help turn the Genesis into the next Chrysler 300 for the urban community.

As a publicity stunt, Hyundai has teamed up with Apple and T-Pain to create the Digital Genesis model which will be unveiled at events across the country, and will include music all from T-Pain’s next album “Thr33 Ringz.” These events will also include promo material such as iTunes cards redeemable for T-Pain music. The Digital Genesis will come packed with Apple gear including two Mac minis, Macbook Air, an iPod Touch, iPhone and two wireless keyboards that slide out of the rear of the front seats. This way all five people in your Genesis can be using their own computer at the same time. The normal version of the Genesis of course will not come with any Apple gear but is way less likely to get stolen. (Source)

Video: T-Pain in new Pepsi ad and marketing campaign

T-Pain and Shaggy star in Pepsi’s new ad campaign as they remix the classic song “Kung-Fu Fighting” to Jamaican singer Tami Chynn’s vocals. Pepsi signed on T-Pain to help produce the song and lend his trademark top hat look to the campaign as well. The Pepsi Kung Fu Fighting website is now active where you can listen to the song and play games while the current TV spot is featured here. If you don’t get what Pepsi is trying to do with this campaign…you are not alone.
