Although the Wu-Tang Clan have had their recent share of bumps with each other, RZA still has held true to his Wu-Tang philosophy which borders on religion. So it’s no surprise that RZA will be releasing his book “The Tao of Wu” which the publisher, Penguin Books, describes as “part chronicle of an extraordinary life and part spiritual and philosophical discourse” and compared as the “Siddhartha for the hip-hop generation —an engaging, seeking book that will enlighten, entertain, and inspire.” The book hits stores October 15, 2009 and will be available nationwide and online. Ol Dirty Bastard x Para. Man I need to get this. The details on this new RIP ODB varsity jacket are crazy. Streetwear companies Para and Incase teamed up to release this “official” tribute jacket which was originally given to friends and family of ODB and The Wu-Tang Clan. The inner lining of the jacket has a nice image of ODB and even the liner tag is designed like the “Brooklyn Zoo” cover.

Well due to overwhelming demand (ahem…me) the jacket is now on sale for $450. That’s $200 more expensive than my high school varsity jacket where I was a three time letterman in…Math & Social Studies. Luckily this ODB jacket is 200 times cooler…so it’s totally worth it. FILA and the Wu-Tang Clan are finally releasing the official WuTang Weathertech boot available at all Finish Line stores across the nation. Check out the official ad shown here. While The Wu-Tang Clan might be having alleged problems with tensions in the group, the merchandising and licensing of the group still maintains a strong presence even after over 10 years in the rap game. They also recently released a documentary from BET called Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan. (Source)

As a big time Wu-fan, I can’t wait for this. Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan documentary is due out on DVD November 18th and looks to be a can’t miss for any fan. BET is putting it out and you can check a 7 min. clip here. The folks at BET were nice enough to send us some photos from the doc and a track listing of the accompanying soundtrack which is basically a “Best of” put out by Loud Records. Even though I already own all these songs, I just might have to get this anyways.

We are assuming this is $7,500 for both shoes, not just the one pictured because $15,000 for a pair of shoes is just insane. $7,500 for a pair of shoes is much more reasonable. The legendary NY sneaker store Fight Club apparently has the impossible to find Nike “Wu-Tang” Dunk-Hi in size 11.5 only. One pair. ProHipHop reports that Gerald Barclay, director of numerous hip-hop documentaries will be releasing Wu: The Story of the Wu-Tang Clan on DVD November 18th by BET/Paramount. The movie was actually shot and finished in 2007 but is finally getting released.

Official synopsis as follows: In the summer of 1993, the Wu-Tang Clan emerged from the slums of Staten Island and took the hip-hop world by storm. Their legacy spanned over a decade, garnering fans worldwide and generating sales in excess of $50 million. This is their story.

Fila announced their collabroation with The Wu-Tang Clan for an exclusive winter boot over a year ago. While some photos have surfaced on the net, WoooHa, Inc. has the first close ups of the Fila x Wu-Tang winter boot that makes prominent use of the Wu-Tang insignia. No word yet on exact U.S. release dates but they are taking pre-orders in Japan. So if you know Japanese…head here to order.

It is now confirmed RZA will be working with film score legend Hans Zimmer in the upcoming Vin Diesel sci-fi action film Babylon A.D. RZA has gone on record multiple times stating he wants to get more involved in film score production and even plans to direct a martial arts film. He recently talked to Backbeat Magazine about producing the music with Zimmer for Babylon A.D.

“The RZA‚Äôs team and Hans Zimmer‚Äôs team have combined to create a hybrid kind of score for this movie that‚Äôs based in the future. So I think it‚Äôs going to be a good vibe for the audience out there, and it‚Äôs a good movie anyway ‚Äì a very thought-provoking movie,” said The RZA (speaking in the first person). Babylon A.D. comes to theaters August 29th.
