T.I. denies our “Takers” Chris Brown story

T.I. x Takers (AKA Bone Deep). Rap Radar recently did an interview with T.I. where he stars and produces in the upcoming action film Takers (formerly Bone Deep) which also stars Chris Brown. In the interview, Rap Radar asks T.I. directly to comment on our WoooHa story of CB being erased from the marketing in the movie. T.I. replies:
Nah man, that can‚Äôt be further from the truth. There‚Äôs no validity to that statement. I‚Äôm a producer on the movie and I ain‚Äôt put forth no sort of order or request man. And personally, it‚Äôs very, very premature to jump to such a conclusion given that none of these matters have been resolved. No one has been tried or convicted or nothing like that. I‚Äôm not going to jump to no conclusions. I‚Äôm not going to. I think that‚Äôs unfair ’cause that‚Äôs what people did with me, and I‚Äôm not going to do that.
Yeti says: All I have to say is that my sources were legit and my story ran when CB was in the total dog house, before he reconciled with Rihanna, and when the media was ripping him. So at that time I was told, yes they were talking about a Chris Brown contingency plan with the marketing. But now? Well now he’s in the studio recording songs with Rihanna, taking trips with her, etc. He’s safe again. So of course they are going to deny everything and say these talks never happened. That’s all. I’m done with this story now. And here is my plug for Screen Gems…Takers hits theaters Jan 8, 2010. Peace.

Chris Brown film career in jeopardy; “erased” from new movie

Chris Brown x Bone Deep. All the blogs and news sources have been covering the fact that Chris is losing endorsement deals left and right, but now his check book is about to hurt even more as his once rising film career is now in serious trouble as well. Rumor has it that Sony Screen Gems, the studio that is releasing Chris’ next movie Bone Deep, is going to basically “erase” Chris from their marketing campaign.

T.I. & Kanye named GQ’s 10 Most Stylish Men

T.I. & Kanye x G.Q. The way Kanye has been going these days this is just more to add to his ego. Regardless, both T.I. and Mr. West have just been announced on this year’s list of GQ’s 10 Most Stylish Men. They join a list that includes Justin Timberlake, Mark Ronson and a bunch or rich old white dudes.
Aside from looking pretty (Kanye more than T.I.), both artists have gotten into fashion design as well. T.I. launched his AKOO clothing line earlier this year and Kanye is putting the finishing touches on his long awaited Pastelle clothing line…but has been distracted by “other things” lately.
T.I. launches label partnership with Amare Stoudmire

T.I. x Grand Hustle.
Dayam T.I. looks like a midget (no offense) next to Phoenix Suns superstar Amare Stoudmire and WNBA star Lisa Leslie. Amare and company came together this past weekend to celebrate the new business collaboration between T.I.’s label Grand Hustle and Amare’s label Hypocalypto Entertainment.
Under the new business deal, Amare will develop artists under the Hypocalypto name but all promotions, distribution and management will be through T.I. and Grand Hustle. This seems like a much better deal for Amare as past NBA stars have struggled to find a legit place in hip-hop. From Shaq, A.I., Ron Artest even Tony Parker…none have been able to secure a power house industry partner like T.I.
Although T.I. is due to serve his time in the slammer soon, he has been aggresively expanding his Grand Hustle empire. He secured a long term film production deal with Sony Screen Gems, has a MTV reality TV show and now a new partner to expand the record label with. Amare’s artist named Juice will be the first artist under the new collaboration. Via: Sohh

America’s Top Selling Rapper Transforms The Lives Of At-Risk Teens In A Series Of Interventions While Grappling With His Own Demons
Universal City, CA РAs he begins counting down the days to his impending March 2009 sentencing for weapons charges, Grammy-winning superstar T.I. finds himself at a remarkable crossroads. At the very apex of his career, he’s facing up to thirty years of jail time for an arrest stemming from his earlier life. However, as part of a deal worked out between his lawyers and the federal government, if he completes an amazing 1000 hours of community service during the year ending this March, that sentence may be reduced. At 27, finding himself at the very high- and low-point of his adult life, he’s seeking redemption in helping others avoid the mistakes he made. In the new docu-series “T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go” cameras follow T.I.’s efforts to save himself by saving others. “T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go” is a moving title. Each week, the title will change to reflect the amount of time left to his sentencing. The final episode will air shortly after T.I.’s fate is revealed. In order to communicate his message, he has to give each teenager a tough love lesson in life and show them the consequences of what could happen if they continue down the wrong path. “T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go” will premiere on Tuesday, February 10 at 9:00PM (ET/PT). Subsequent episodes will air in the show’s regular timeslot at 9:30pm (ET/PT).
“MTV has always given artists a platform to get their stories and music out to their fans and this series reveals the unknown side of T.I.– one of the world’s greatest artists at the most precarious time in his life,” said Tony DiSanto, Executive Vice President, Series Development and Programming. “In the face of impending incarceration, T.I. is driven to ensure others do not make the same mistakes, and our cameras document every step along this road as he impacts and changes lives for the better. It is real-time redemption.”
In “T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go,” viewers will not only watch as T.I. attempts to help change the lives of desperate teenagers across the country but they will also get a behind-the-scenes peek at the most private and personal moments of one of today’s hottest most sought after artists on the verge of leaving his glittering career for time behind bars.
The series will follow T.I. as he talks to school and community groups about how to avoid the trouble he now finds himself in, but it will also follow a search for personal redemption. “T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go” chronicles the rap icon’s dedicated mission to educate today’s youth on the issues of his past that have come back to haunt him today. Along the way, we will see the birth of his sixth child, the release of his most ambitious, reflective, and mature work yet, “Paper Trail,” his long and serious journey to transform the lives of a group of at risk teens, his ongoing struggle to manage his personal life while completing 1000 hours of community service and most importantly, coming to terms with going to jail at the height of his career. “We visited T.I. early in 2008 while he was under house arrest in Georgia and found a man utterly unlike his rap persona,” said Ish Entertainment Principals Stella Stolper and Michael Hirschorn. “He felt that he was undergoing a karmic reckoning, a time when he would have to balance the scales of his life and integrate who he was with who he is. We’ve never seen someone so introspective, so smart about how who he was back in the slums of Atlanta is affecting who he is now.”
“T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go” is Executive Produced by T.I. Michael Hirschorn, Stella Stolper and Chris Choun of Ish Entertainment. Billy Taylor, Jason Geter (Grand Hustle) and Brian Sher (Category 5 Entertainment) are Executive Producers. Tony DiSanto and George McTeague are Creative Executives overseeing project for MTV. “T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go” is produced by MTV and Ish Entertainment.

T.I. recently made a promotional appearance for his AKOO clothing line in Conneticut where hundreds of fans were waiting for the chance to buy AKOO and meet the famed rapper/designer. AKOO is now available online and can be purchased through official online dealer Dr. Jays.
T.I. renews movie deal with New Line Cinema

Even though Clifford will possibly be serving his long awaited jail sentence as early as March, that hasn’t stopped his film career from moving forward. T.I. already signed a long term production deal with Sony Screen Gems back in July of 2008 but he also has a production deal with New Line Cinema as well.
Although New Line is now absorbed by Warner Brothers, the production deal with T.I.’s Grand Hustle Entertainment was renewed and kept intact so that the company could work with T.I. in developing his next movie For Sale.¬† The movie has actually been in development since July of 2006 but was delayed for one reason or another. But now, with jail fast approaching, T.I. is set on making it happen. He recently told MTV:
“The film I’m producing over at New Line, For Sale, we’re trying to put that together, and hopefully we’ll be able to do that before March. We’re getting offers every day, checking on our availability, on whether or not we’ll be able to take advantage of certain opportunities, film-wise.“
Similar to The ATL, For Sale is loosely based on T.I.’s own life and is about the crazy antics that go on in an Atlanta used car sales lot. Greg Coolidge, who has directed comedies such as Sorority Boys and Employee of the Month is set to take the directing duties for this movie as well. T.I. recently finished filming the robbery caper Bone Deep which hits theaters January 8, 2010.
