Xzibit hosting ABC’s “Extreme Home Makeover”

Xzibit hosting ABC’s “Extreme Home Makeover”

Xzibit x Extreme Home Makeover. X to the Z goes from hosting shows like MTV’s “Pimp My Ride” to hitting the mainstream as he will be hosting this Sunday’s episode of “Extreme Home Makeover.”

It’s a whole different presentation. It’s a whole different seriousness, when you go about building a house in seven days. This is somewhere where people have to spend their lives at. So it’s a lot different than putting a chandelier or somethin’ in a car…it’s different programming, it’s a different network, it’s a different feel all the way around.

So you mean putting a chandelier or a fish tanks or whatever other insane things they put in cars was not a good idea? We still want to see the show “Pimp My Ride: A Year Later” to see what happened to all those cars with the crazy stuff in them. X goes on to talk about expanding his fan base and awareness with TV….

VIDEO: Trailer to “Bad Lieutenant” starring Xzibit & Nicholas Cage

Xzibit x Bad Lieutenant. UPDATE: The trailer is now back up. Hot off the presses here is the brand new movie trailer to Xzibit’s (ahem Alvin Joiner here in Hollywood) latest movie where he co-stars with Nicholas Cage. Movie is remake of the Harvey Keitel film with Cage playing the lead role as a corrupt, drug loving cop who must find a killer (Xzibit) but in the process ends up doing buisness with him. Movie looks refreshingly badass.

Xzibit wants to take acting career to next level

Insert Hip-Hop Artist Name Here wants to take acting career to next level. Yes I’m not posting the same story over and over. These days seems like artists are shifting focus where the money is…from the music to the movies. Bow Wow went public saying he wants to focus on movies and even Busta Rhymes wants to start a TV career.

Well Xzibit is already on his way from transitioning from artist to actor with a whole range of films under his belt including the recently released American Violet (trailer and pics here) which opened this past weekend. In a recent interview though with Euroweb, X to the Z talks about taking his acting the next level:

‚ÄúI don‚Äôt want to play stereotypical parts. I mean they hand those out every hour on the hour. If I plan to make more important movies as I go along, then the choices I make now are very important…certain roles that come around are just not attractive. It‚Äôs not about the money. It‚Äôs not about me thinking I need to be in a big budget film. I don‚Äôt think I‚Äôm prepared to carry a movie by myself right now, but I want to work to get to that point. But the fact of me knowing that is going to save me a lot of headaches and the audience a lot of bad movies … so you won‚Äôt see me on ‚ÄòSoul Plane 6.‚Äô‚Äù

As somone in both the film and music industry it is nice to see that Xzibit realizes he is not ready to carry a movie by himself. Most of these rappers (ahem Diddy) think they can just come to Hollywood and win an Oscar and be a big-budget action star overnight.

Trailer & pics of Xzibit in new film “American Violet”

Most Hollywood agents will tell a client that the best way to gain legtimacy as a real actor with directors and producers is to go the indie film circuit. Although Xzibit already has a couple of films on his resume, he recently took a role in the powerful and moving film American Violet to prove he’s Continue Reading…

Xzibit taking acting career to next level

One of the tell-tale signs that a hip-hop artist is taking their acting career seriously is when they drop their rapper “stage name” and switch to their real name. Xzibit will now be using his real name of Alvin Joiner in the credits and publicity of the upcoming movie X-Files: I Want to Believe. He plays FBI Agent Mosely Drummy in a major role where he helps Mulder and Scully solve an unthinkable crime. Not only did Alvin slim down for the role but he shaved his head and even went through FBI training as well. X-Files: I Want to Believe hits theaters July 25th.
